The buses will be deployed to Matabeleland North and South rural areas where the inhabitants are facing transport challenges. Said, President Mnangagwa:
The majority of buses we are commissioning today will ply rural areas in Mat North and South provinces to improve the public transport sector.
FeedbackThe President also revealed that approximately 1 500 buses are expected to come from China and 300 of those will come in knocked down parts which will be assembled locally.
Since the beginning of the year, the government has been increasing ZUPCO’s fleet by buying new buses and entering into agreements with private transporters where they provide their buses to operate under the transport utility.
