Despondent Zimbabweans Migrate In Droves
There has been a renewed exodus of Zimbabweans seeking for greener pastures elsewhere following a sharp economic deterioration since the 2018 general elections.
Several Zimbabweans who spoke to Anadolu Agency expressed permission on the country’s economic prospects with migration considered the only sensible thing to do. Claris Madhuku, director of the Platform for Youth Development had this to say:
People were shot at and some killed last year after elections because they demanded the release of results for the presidential polls.
FeedbackPeople were shot at and killed, some abducted in their homes and beaten by soldiers early this year, even as they battled to survive in this harsh economy, and most now have nothing to wait for, they just have to head out anywhere.
Zimbabwe is experiencing economic turmoil last seen in 2008 when hyperinflation destroyed the local currency and people’s savings were totally wiped out.
11 years later, the situation has deteriorated to almost similar levels with Zimbabweans increasingly becoming despondent.
