Gunmen Kill Prominent Businessman & ZANU PF Member, Take Nothing And Leave
Prominent businessman and ZANU PF member, Tapson Ncube was on Tuesday shot and killed at his home in Maphisa, Matebeleland South Province.
Ncube had business interests in mining, transport, retail and also sponsored Division One soccer outfit The Venue.
Ncube contested in the Zanu-PF primary elections for the Matobo North Constituency ahead of last year’s harmonised polls and lost to incumbent Edgar Moyo.
The Chronicle reports that the incident took place around 4 am with the gunmen poisoning the dogs first breaking into the house through the window.
The publication further reports that Ncube who ordered his wife to hide in the bathroom must have been anticipating the incident.
Other sources to the Chronicle suggest that Ncube might have been killed by his colleagues in the money in transit business.
Others alleged that he might have been killed by his son’s colleagues after he refused to disclose his son’s whereabouts. It is alleged that his son had disappeared from his colleagues with the money form an alleged robbery in South Africa.
