It'll Take A Lot To Make ZANU PF Go Against Grace Mugabe - OPINION
Political analysts, Rashweat Mukundu has said that despite the death of Zimbabwe’s founding leader, Robert Mugabe, the ruling party will find it difficult to harass the former first lady, Grace Mugabe.
Mukundu said that Mugabe’s widow will be cushioned mainly by her late husband’s legacy which attracts the attention of the whole world. Speaking to the Daily News, Mukundu said:
There seems to be a lot of interest in Robert Mugabe not only in Zimbabwe but also in Africa and to maintain Mugabe’s legacy, Mnangagwa may want to leave her alone. It will take a lot to make Zanu PF go against her.
FeedbackSo it will be the legacy of Mugabe that will protect Grace and her children. Mnangagwa does not want to grab headlines on the continent for harassing the Mugabe family even though they could be a section in Zanu PF that would want to take revenge.
President Mnangagwa who was expected by many to descend mightly upon her considering the way she treated her when he was the vice-president has so far pledged to protect her.
The government has however since invited miners to repossess their lands which Grace had grabbed.
