MDC Deploys 'Peace Ambassadors' In Lupane East To Rein In ZANU PF
MDC Alliance deputy organising secretary, Happymore Chidziva said that the party has deployed “peace ambassadors” in Lupane East ahead of a by-election set for next month.
Chidziva told the Daily News that the move was meant to prevent ZANU PF from engaging in vote-buying by using food relief as a political weapon. He said:
We have deployed our peace ambassadors who will make sure that this nonsense of Zanu PF taking over the distribution of State resources and give to its supporters only comes to an end by making sure that they use all means necessary to have all State aid accessed by all regardless of political affiliation.
FeedbackWe are teaching our people there that they have the right to food aid from the government so they are going to be in all areas where such practice is rampant and they will use whatever means they can to access their share.
ZANU PF has come under fire after the Minister of Health, Obadiah Moyo instructed NatPharm to provide six clinics with drugs in Lupane East ahead of the National Assembly by-election. Read the leaked letter:
