ED Promotes Senior ZPCS Officer
President Mnangagwa has promoted a senior Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) officer, Senior Assistant Commissioner Shepherd Mpofu, to the position of Deputy Commissioner-General.
The 46-year-old Mpofu is replacing Deputy Comm-Gen Huggins Machingauta who retired early this year. In a statement, ZPCS national spokesperson chief correctional officer Meya Khanyezi said:
The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has in terms of Section 9(1) (b) of the Prisons Act (Chapter 7:11) promoted Senior Assistant Commissioner Shepherd Mpofu to the rank of Deputy Commissioner-General with effect from 13 June 2019.
FeedbackDeputy Comm-Gen Mpofu who holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Management) degree from Solusi University joined ZPCS in 1996 and rose through the ranks to the current position.
He was the officer commanding Matabeleland South Province before his recent promotion.
