"Warmonger, Devil Incarnate Chamisa Has Declared War, Sure?" - ZANU PF Youth Leader
The ZANU PF youth leader has said that MDC leader Nelson Chamisa has been beating war drums and the ruling party will be prepared for him.
At the just ended MDC 5th elective congress held in Gweru, Chamisa promised that his party shall take it to the streets in protest of government’s failure to deal with the economic and political crises bedeviling the country.
His remarks are a strong redolence of sentiments by several trade unions and consumer organisations. In response, the government has issued fierce warnings saying that state security personnel is alert to squash any protest.
In reaction to Chamisa’s remarks in Gweru, Zanu PF youth league secretary Pupurai Togarepi took to Facebook last week to express his anger on Chamisa. He said:
Warmonger, devil incarnate. Zimbabweans are peaceful; allow them to remain so. Chamisa has declared war, sure? Has the definition of the word ‘war’ changed? hondo haina kunaka (war is not good).
Lewis Mathuthu, Togarepi’s deputy also warned Chamisa against inciting violence. He said:
We’re worried about Mr Chamisa’s loose tongue that utters words of disunity and violence in a peaceful and democratic country. He must be warned.
