Ngezi Platinum Stars Players Call Off Strike
The management of Ngezi Platinum Stars and the players have resolved an impasse over the reviewing of the latter’s salaries and allowances.
On Friday, the players refused to train, demanding a salary and bonus increment or alternatively, to be paid in US dollars.
The pay dispute threatened to derail the club’s preparations and participation in Saturday’s match (today) against TelOne.
The news of the two parties’ agreement was revealed by Star FM sports journalist, Yvonne Mangunda, who said:
Ngezi Platinum players have agreed to play after an agreement was reached on reviewing their salaries and bonuses in line with adjustments in the cost of living.
The team had refused to train yesterday citing the need for a review of their remuneration and intended to boycott today’s home match against Telone at Baobab.
