Chamisa Reveals Why He Rejected Mnangagwa Invite As Bishop Mutendi Calls On MDC & ZANU PF Leaders To Emulate Mugabe And Tsvangirai
MDC president Nelson Chamisa on Thursday morning revealed why he refused to meet President Emmerson Mnangagwa together with other opposition leaders at State House on Wednesday.
While addressing a breakfast prayer meeting organised by churches that are seeking divine intervention to ease challenges facing the country in Harare today, Chamisa said:
We can’t have a dialogue when other people are in prison on the account of politics …when others are mourning their loved ones…
FeedbackAddressing the same gathering, Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi has urged Chamisa and ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa to emulate the late MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai and former president Robert Mugabe. The duo agreed to dialogue under the mediation of the Southern African Development Community 2008. Said Mutendi:
We must follow the examples of our predecessors. During the difficult period in our country, Dr Joshua Nkomo sought peace and our Former President Robert Mugabe sat down with Nkomo and they talked peace.
Tsvangirai made peace with Mugabe and he did not consider it humiliation but he did it for peace. When Mugabe made peace President Mnangagwa was his right-hand man when Tsvangirai made peace Chamisa was his right-hand man so why can’t it happen now?
