ZANU PF Members Shy Away From Wearing Party Regalia, Fear Being Ostracized By The Public
ZANU PF members in Masvingo have reportedly shunned wearing party regalia in public and even at party events. They are afraid of being ostracized by the members of the communities they come from.
According to a Newsday report, Masvingo provincial spokesperson Ronald Ndava quizzed party functionaries at an inter-district meeting held at Chitsanga Hall on why they did not wear party regalia.
Ndava was however shouted down by party members who told him that they could not even use public transport, Kombis, when clad in party regalia.
Chiredzi district war veterans chairperson, Killer Makuni said he would deal with kombis which shun ZANU PF members. Said Makuni:
How could you be ejected from a kombi by someone who is not Zanu PF? You are just cowards. Instead, you are the ones who are supposed to eject someone without party regalia from those kombis, not vice versa. I am so disappointed with you.
Masvingo Zanu PF provincial chairperson Ezra Chadzamira accused his comrades of sitting on the fence. Said Chadzamira:
I can’t believe what you are saying. Maybe you are now shy to wear our regalia. We know that there are some people who are now sitting on the fence. If you are that kind of a person, let me tell that the party has no room for you. We want people who know what they want.
