Tourism Sector Earns Over $1 Billion In 2018

The tourism sector has earned over $1 billion so far this year. This figure surpassed the total earnings of $967 million in 2017.

The government expect the earnings to double in 2019. In an interview with The Sunday Mail, Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Prisca Mupfumira said,

In 2018, we have been targeting $1 billion in revenue and I am happy to say that we have surpassed that target. On arrivals, we have reached 2,7 million… We are confident that the new year will be even better if we do our things properly… I don’t see any reason why we cannot double those figures. For that to happen, we need enablers; that’s the major issue.
