Khupe Has Doomed Her Political Career By Endorsing Mnangagwa: MRP

The Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) has said that Thokozani Khupe has doomed her political career by endorsing President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s electoral victory. According to MRP MRP president Mqondisi Moyo, Khupe should go ahead and join Zanu-PF because she was going to lose support in Matabeleland. Addressing the media, Moyo said,

We feel this move [endorsing Mnangagwa] has disqualified her as a leadership figure in Matabeleland. It is clear she got most of her votes in Matabeleland. She was naturally viewed among the 23 presidential candidates as a Matabeleland candidate. Her embracing of those accused of genocide in Matabeleland is not only shocking but spells her doom on her political career…The best she can do for now is to join Zanu PF and stop compromising the opposition.

However, Khupe’s spokesperson Khaliphani Phugeni, defended Khupe saying that the breakaway MDC-T faction did not believe in being sore losers.
