ZEC registers over 4 million people

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has registered 4,173,897 as of 13 December 2017. The fourth and last phase of the biometric voter registration blitz, which began on the 4th of December will end on the 19th of December.
Harare has the most registered people with 648,590 while Bulawayo has the least registered people with 171,543. A total of 73,274 people have been turned away so far due to various reasons with Mashionaland West being the province with the most people that were turned away at 11,936.
A number of people were turned away for not having national identity documents and “aliens” who did not have birth certificates. Provinces such as Mashonaland West, Masvingo and Midlands experienced network challenges.
