President Mnangagwa caps 1 218 graduates at CUT, installed as Chancellor

President Emmerson Mnangagwa capped a total of 1 218 graduates at his first graduation ceremony at Chinhoyi University of Technology. Of the 1 218, 7 graduated with PhDs, 163 masters and 1 048 undergraduates.

Mnangagwa was also installed as chancellor of the institution by CUT Vice Chancellor Professor David Simbi. In his acceptance speech, Mnanagagwa challenged higher education institutions to become cradles of new design concepts, research and new technologies and systems with a positive impact on industry and commerce. He added that Zimbabwe has to continue to produce quality graduands capable of producing finished products onto the market.
