Madzibaba assaults fellow congregant for refusing to be shaved with same razor blade

Madzibaba Steven Mukozhiwa (39) of Bulawayo was fined for assaulting a fellow congregant who had defied his “prophecy.” Mukozhiwa had made a “prophecy” which stated that all congregants had to shave their heads with the same razor blade. When Seppyoggi Rutendo Mthethwa (22) refused to adhere to these instrutions, Mukozhiwa assaulted him using his shepherd’s crook.

West Commonage magistrate Mr Steven Ndlovu convicted Mukozhiwa of assault and fined him $300 or 90 days in prison. Ruled Ndlovu:

Failure to pay the fine will attract an effective 90 days in prison. A further 6 months in jail will be wholly suspended on condition of good behaviour
