Kasukuwere slaps Dinha with $500 000 defamation lawsuit
Zanu-PF national commissar Saviour Kasukuwere has taken Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs minister Martin Dinha, to court, claiming $500 000 in defamation damages. This comes after Dinha allegedly insinuated Kasukuwere has intentions to remove President Robert Mugabe from power.
In the summons filed on May 9 at the High Court, Kasukuwere accused Dinha of having caused the publication of a defamatory article in The Sunday Mail entitled “The Tyson-Malema unholy alliance”. Kasukuwere said the article quoted Dinha stating that he was “working with Julius Malema because they both share the ambition to take over power from Presidents Robert Mugabe and Jacob Zuma respectively”. Kasukuwere also cited publishers of The Sunday Mail, Zimbabwe Newspapers, and the paper’s editor Mabasa Sasa as respondents and all the respondents are yet to file a response.
