SA hitman had Mugabe's name on his alleged assassination list

President Robert Mugabe was one of the prominent people who featured on a list of people that South African Elvis Ramosebudi wanted to assassinate. The list also featured South African Ministers among others. The assassination plans were discovered in documents police found in Ramosebudi’s home in Soshanguve‚ near Pretoria. Ramosebudi was arrested by the Hawks and is facing charges from conspiracy to commit murder to incitement to commit murder.
Ramosebudi allegedly told the undercover officer he wanted to use food poisoning and a sniper rifle to assassinate the targets.
The state opposed Ramosebudi’s bail application citing that he was a danger to society. The case was postponed to Monday for judgement in the bail application.
