Mum cuts off son's private parts

A woman from Magwegwe North Suburb in Bulawayo allegedly chopped off her two year old son’s private parts claiming they were too big for his age. The boy has been admitted at Mpilo Central Hospital for the past two months. The woman is a psychiatric patient.

A family member who spoke to The Chronicle said that the woman has since been taken to Ingutsheni Central Hospital. When asked by The Chronicle Mpilo acting clinical director Dr Xolani Ndlovu could neither deny nor confirm the incident however a nurse who spoke to the paper on condition of anonymity said that the child had suffered a traumatic amputation.
