Local musician, Saintfloew, has signed a music deal with Virgin Music, becoming one of the few Zimbabweans to sign with an international label. In Zimbabwe, Saintfloew is signed to Nash Nation who are one of Virgin Music’s labe partners.

Saintfloew, whose real name is Tawanda Mambo , has joined other African artists such as Nigerians Rema, Darkoo,  Reekado Banks, Zimbabwean Asaph and several other musicians on the continent.
Virgin Music Group is a subsidiary of Universal Music Africa and established presence in Africa in 2022. It’s stated objective has been to add African music to its catalogue through deals with label partners and musicians on the continent.
Tinashe Mutarisi, founder of the Nash Nation label commented on the development:

It's a big achievement for Saintfloew to work with such a big label.

Saintfloew Signs Music Deal With Virgin Music

Decibel, a well-known Urban Grooves artist, says Zimbabwe has talented individuals who could break into the international scene in the arts and entertainment sector. However, he believes that bloggers like Plot Mhako and Tinashe Mutarisi’s NashTV are hindering the progress of Zimbabwean music. According to Decibel, these bloggers promote certain artists they favour or who can pay them, neglecting those with genuine talent that could put Zimbabwe on the map.
Decibel claims that the problem lies with bloggers like Plot Mhako, who seem more interested in personal gain and self-promotion rather than genuinely supporting and exposing talent. He questions whether money should determine talent and argues that the negative stories of artistes who do not pay spread faster than positive ones. He said:

Decibel’s comments align with those made by Lazzie T Chapo, an experienced producer and artist. Lazzie T recently spoke to Uncle Joe and said Plot Mhako refused to provide him with public relations (PR) services and often criticises Zimdancehall without offering constructive solutions to improve the genre. Lazzie T believes that Mhako shows favouritism towards certain artists he personally admires. Lazzie T said despite this, he appreciates Mhako’s efforts to promote the music industry.
In response, Plot Mhako defended himself, stating that Decibel wanted free marketing and promotion while expecting to make money from his music. Plot Mhako believes that if an artist produces good music, they may not require extensive external promotion and PR. He said:

Some people disagreed with Decibel, suggesting that he was bitter because he was no longer active in the music industry. They claimed that blaming bloggers or seeking attention would not solve his problems and advised him to focus on creating a hit song instead. One commentator said:

On the other hand, some individuals supported Decibel’s viewpoint. They accused certain bloggers of favouritism and gatekeeping, promoting only a select group of artists while ignoring others. They advised artists to concentrate on their craft and talent, as these bloggers might not advocate for them unless they are part of their inner circle. 
Others argued that demanding payment for promotional services is acceptable, but refusing to promote an artist solely because they didn’t pay, while negatively mentioning the same artist, is unethical. If bloggers cannot promote an artist for free, Decibel suggests they should refrain from mentioning the artist altogether. Chimedza Darius Bryton concurred:

They emphasised the need for systemic change and addressing the root causes of failure in various sectors. Decibel Criticizes Plot Mhako, Nashtv, Bloggers Hindering Zimbabwean Music's International Breakthrough

Musicians <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Seh_Calaz">Seh Calaz</a> and <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Baba_Harare">Baba Harare</a>, as well as social media personality <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Night_Shadaya_Tawona">Shadaya</a>, have defended Executive Chairman and Founder of Nash Holdings Tinashe Mutarisi after he clashed with preacher-cum-ZANU PF apologist <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Passion_Java">Passion Java</a>, and singer <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Mudiwa_Hood">Mudiwa Hood</a> on social media.
Mutarisi lambasted Java and Hood, saying they were jealous of him for “the love and respect from the people of Zimbabwe” that he receives without putting any effort.
He also claimed that Java and Hood have continuously attacked him and his Nash Paints business “without any valid reason.”
Posting on Facebook, Seh Calaz, real name Tawanda Mumanyi, said he doesn’t really care who is right or wrong but will not support a fake prophet, adding that Java fakes his whole lifestyle. Wrote Seh Calaz:

Jiti musician Baba Harare, whose real name is Braveman Chizvino, dismissed Hood’s response to Mutarisi where he pleaded innocence. He said:

Shadaya, Baba Harare And Seh Calaz Defend Tinashe Mutarisi

Local businessman and the chief executive officer of <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Nash_Paints" title="Nash Paints">Nash Paints</a>, <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Tinashe_Mutarisi">Tinashe Mutarisi</a>, said that maverick preacher Passion Java and Hip Hop artiste <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Mudiwa_Hood">Mudiwa Hood</a> are jealous of the love and support he receives from members of the public.
Posting on Facebook, Mutarisi said Java called him on Monday, 30 October, in the company of Hood claiming that he had been sent by higher authorities to decampaign him and his business.
However, Mutarisi has categorically denied Java’s alleged claims that he had been sent by powerful people, saying the eccentric pastor is an attention seeker. Wrote Mutarisi:

Passion Java called me yesterday aina Mudiwa claiming and lying kuti he was sent by higher authorities to campaign against me and my business.
It is a lie as no one has authorized or sent them and it is simply their attention-seeking behavior.
It is not the system that is fighting against me, but rather him and his vain friends who fail to comprehend why people still support and admire me without having to boast as they do.
They attempted to befriend me, but I declined to join their destructive cliques that aimed to undermine the values of our nation.
They have always desired a direct confrontation with me, despite my pleas for them to leave me alone.
Unfortunately, they have continuously attacked both me and my business without any valid reason.
Their actions stem from jealousy, as they are unable to attain the love and respect from the people of Zimbabwe that I effortlessly receive.
I am grateful to the people of Zimbabwe for their unwavering support, which has become a powerful shield against these haters.

In response, Java accused Mutarisi of being too emotional “like a woman who is going through her menstrual cycle”. He said:

In May this year, Mutarisi’s Nash Furnishers Headquarters in Harare was destroyed by fire, and recently, he had to send his workers home after his industrial complex had gone for a whole week without electricity, leading to speculation that he was being sabotaged by “the system”.

In a Facebook post seen by Pindula News, Nash Paints CEO, Tinashe Mutarisi, has called on Zimbabweans to support both Jah Prayzah and Winky D as they make an impact on the global music scene. Mutarisi emphasized that the two artists represent Zimbabwe, and their success would benefit the entire country. He urged fans not to discredit one artist in favour of the other and to remember that they are in competition but also colleagues.
Mutarisi acknowledged the exceptional launch of Winky D’s album and Jah Prayzah’s remarkable evolution as an artist with numerous international awards. Some members of the public who commented on the case expressed shock that the Fire Brigade had responded swiftly. One important issue that came out is that of fire hydrants which many property owners are not installing.
Process of Installing Fire Hydrants:
To install a fire hydrant, one must follow the set regulations and guidelines from the local authority. The first step is to engage the local authority to obtain the necessary permits and approvals. After approval, a <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">licensed plumber</a> can install the <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">fire hydrant system</a>, which includes the piping, valves, and hydrant itself. It is essential to ensure that the fire hydrant is easily accessible and visible to the <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">fire brigade</a> in case of an emergency.

The CEO of NASH Paints, <a href="https://wiki.pindula.co.zw/Tinashe_Mutarisi">Tinashe Mutarisi</a>, apologised for a photo posted on Facebook by his classmate Jossy Mutongi. The photo in which Jossy is leaning on Mutarisi has a caption which reads “My desk mate my besty my classmate it’s sad because of levels we can’t play together the way we want anyhow anytime I love you ikoko kwauri happy birthday…” 
The photo has sparked controversy on social media. Some people believe that the pair may have had a romantic relationship, while others think that Jossy posted the picture for attention. In a statement seen by Pindula News, Mutarisi said:

Allow me to apologize for a picture that one of my former friends posted on Facebook a day after my birthday.

These days mental health is a challenge to a lot of pple so it’s advisable to tread with caution on issues like these. What I know for a fact is she likes me and she was one of my top fans always posting nice things about me. I honestly do not believe she would intentionally do something to harm my reputation.

Tinashe Mutarisi Apologises For A Photo With A Classmate

Hwindi President is not the first artiste to complain over NashTV’s non-payment. NashTV is owned by local businessman <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Tinashe_Mutarisi">Tinashe Mutarisi</a> who also owns NASH Paints.
A fortnight ago, Lazzie T. Chapo, a reggae artiste and producer claimed that he had removed his song from the NashTV YouTube channel as he was not getting anything from the song despite many views.
YouTube pays up to $6 per 1 000 views which means content creators’ estimated earnings would be $1 200 to $6 000 for every million views on the videos they post.

Hwindi President Says NashTV Have Promised To Pay His YouTube Money

Earground founder, Plot Mhako has said he would not take advice from Tunashe Mutarisi, Nash Paints founder, considering that he previously “<a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/04/25/magaisa-speaks-on-nashtv-artiste-contract-leaked-by-plot-mhako/">almost robbed” Zimdancehall</a>. Mutarisi suggested that Zimdancehall artists should be content where they are considering where they came from. In response, Mhako said artists should not be content with “mediocre” no matter where they came from. In a social media post seen by Pindula News, Mhako said:

I will not take word from someone who almost robbed the whole genre. Remember the NashTV contracts that wanted to take all the music rights from artists performing on their platform? If I had not brought it out and put them to task these same artists they purport to love wouldn’t own the rights to their music. This talk that we should be ok with mediocre &amp; that these artists are ok with low achievements because they come from poverty is mischievous and self-defeating. So what if they came from a place of nothing, is it wrong for them to then desire way more and dream to be world stars. I know where they have been and I know their stories, I also know about their dreams and aspirations to be super stars on the world stage. It will not come easy and a lot will need to be changed for their art to become viable businesses!! 
Their Mindset needs to change, their attitude towards their art and craft needs to shift and they need to do better. Your brand Nash Paints we have seen its growth, you have expanded and have so many branches nationwide and you have also even crossed the boarders to Zambia etc. 
SO WHY Mr Mutarisi wouldn’t you want the same for our artists?? Haven’t you had to improve how you run your business, have you not made some changes and adjustments to how you operate for you to get better? Why murikuda kuramba muchida kubhabhadzira ma artists muchivasimbisa zvakafa.? Fact is Genre needs to put in more work and do better. I am not playing Messiah here. These artists have dreams and desires to be better and take their dreams global, ask them. I have had conversations with most of them and many of them are actually in my inbox agreeing with me. You basically just said these artists shouldn’t have ambition and aim for better because since they can afford the bare minimum they should be ok. That’s not fair and I hope one day people will understand and see that my heart is pure and that I mean well. The music industry is a dog eat dog and we see it everyday in our local space where players only want to compete and to be seen as the Mbinga Messiah who is doing the most.
