Former radio and television presenter Oscar Pambuka has spoken for the first time after his recent release from prison.
Pambuka had a six-and-a-half-year jail sentence by a magistrate overturned on appeal by the High Court.
In a post on Facebook, suggested he could be set for a return to the airwaves. He wrote:

The news read by Oscar Pambuka. I thank you, Lord for the gift of life. It is you Almighty God who sets the captives free.
Thank you for delivering me and restoring my life. I speak light in my life and yours as well. See you on the rebound. It’s game on and love you mafia.
</blockquote>
The text was accompanied by a picture of himself reading the news on ZBCtv, along with the hashtag #TheRestoration.
Pambuka and his co-accused, Psychology Maziwisa were convicted of two counts of fraud and each sentenced to six years and five months in prison.
The court, however, conditionally suspended part of the sentence, leaving them to serve only two years and six months each.
Pambuka’s lawyer, Panashe Sagwete, then appealed against his conviction and sentence.
Last week, High Court judges Pisirayi Kwenda and Benjamin Chikowero granted the appeal.

Oscar Pambuka Hints On Next Move After Release From Prison

High court judges Pisirayi Kwenda and Benjamin Chikowero have quashed former radio and television presenter Oscar Pambuka’s conviction and sentence by the Magistrates Court on appeal.
Pambuka’s lawyer, Panashe Sagwete, had appealed against his conviction and sentence on two counts of fraud.
Pambuka and his co-accused, Psychology Maziwisa were convicted of two counts of fraud and each sentenced to six years and five months in prison.
The court, however, conditionally suspended part of the sentence, leaving them to serve only serve two years and six months each.
Pambuka and Maziwisa were allegedly fraudulently awarded a tender to do public relations work for ZESA Holdings by former Energy minister Samuel Undenge at a time when the power utility had its own functional public relations department.
ZESA’s subsidiary, the Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC), lost over US$12 000 in that deal.

High Court Overturns Oscar Pambuka's Conviction For Fraud

Former ZANU PF Member of Parliament for the Highfield West constituency, Psychology Maziwisa, was arrested on Friday.
According to The News Hawks, Maziwisa was arrested after appearing at the High Court to seek an extension of time within which to appeal and condonation of the late filing of the appeal.
His arrest followed the issuance of a warrant of arrest for him by a Harare magistrate.
The magistrate issued the warrant after Maziwisa failed to submit himself to authorities to go to jail to serve 30 months for defrauding the Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) of US$12 000 in a corrupt public relations deal.
He was convicted in 2018 with former ZBC presenter Oscar Pambuka for fraud.
Maziwisa and Pambuka were supposed to submit themselves to prison several months ago after their appeal against conviction and sentence was struck off the High Court roll in September last year.
The two were then supposed to go to jail for 30 months but failed to do so.
Pambuka is already serving a two-and-a-half years jail term for the offence after he was committed to prison last week.

Former ZANU PF MP Psychology Maziwisa Arrested

Former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation television (ZBC-TV) presenter <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Oscar_Pambuka">Oscar Pambuka</a> was Tuesday sentenced to one year in jail for attempting to defraud <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Croco_Holdings">Croco Motors</a> of R36 000.
Pambuka was being charged together with Elmore Mwenye and Ngonidzashe Mbauya who have since been absolved of the charges by Mbare magistrates Nyasha Vitorini.
The magistrate, however, suspended the whole sentence on the condition that Pambuka does not commit a similar offence in three years.
In suspending the sentence, the magistrate considered that Pambuka’s High Court appeal on his previous six-year conviction was dismissed.

What happened:
The court heard that Pambuka misrepresented to Gibson Mazhangara, who runs Gimatar Logistics, that he was Croco Motors’ marketing manager, and wanted some money to pay for the shipment of his motor vehicle parts in South Africa.
Prosecutor Vimbai Makamure told the court that on November 15, 2022, Pambuka, who was masquerading as Croco Motors’ marketing manager and representing Moses Chingwena, called Mazhangara using a South African number and claimed that Chingwena was in a meeting.
Pambuka demanded R36 000 as an advance payment for shipping vehicle parts from South Africa.
The court heard that Pambuka then asked Mazhangara to deposit the money into J Velem Enterprises trading as Ulphostery Trading’s FNB Bank account in South Africa.
He also told Mazhangira that he would receive the equivalent of R36 000 in United States dollars in the country.
Mazhangira became suspicious and went to confirm with Croco Motors, who indicated that they had no containers of spare parts in South Africa waiting for shipment.
He subsequently reported the incident to the police, which resulted in Pambuka and his aides being arrested.

Oscar Pambuka Gets A Suspended Year In Another Fraud Scandal

Former ZBC News anchor <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Oscar_Pambuka">Oscar Pambuka</a> has been jailed for six years for fraud.
Pambuka and former Highfield Member of Parliament Psychology Maziwisa were last year convicted of fraud and were supposed to go to jail for two years and six months each but instead, “they disappeared,” The Herald reported.
Pambuka was this week convicted in another case of fraud and remanded in custody for sentencing while Maziwisa has not been accounted for and is still on a warrant of arrest.
The courts activated Pambuka’s warrant of arrest following his conviction at Mbare magistrates’ court. He was yesterday brought before High Court judge Justice Pisirayi Kwenda for a default inquiry and was committed to prison.
Pambuka and Maziwisa were initially convicted of two counts of fraud and each sentenced to six years and five months in prison.
However, they will only serve two years and six months each after the rest of the term was conditionally suspended.
<h2>What happened:</h2>

Oscar Pambuka Jailed 6 Years

Former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) television presenter Oscar Pambuka and his two colleagues were on Wednesday convicted on charges of attempting to defraud a Harare-based transporter of R36 000.
Pambuka, Elmore Mwenye, and Ngonidzashe Mbauya, who is in the transport business, were convicted when they appeared at the Mbare Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 18 January.
Pambuka, working in cahoots with his colleagues, misrepresented to Gibson Mazhangara, who runs Gimatar Logistics, that he was Mr. Chingwena, Croco Motors director, and wanted advance money to pay for shipment of his motor spare parts in South Africa.
The trio was convicted on fraud charges.

Oscar Pambuka Convicted Of Fraud

Oscar Pambuka, veteran TV personality announced on Thursday via his Facebook page that he was now a prophet and was set to open his Church this Sunday in Houghton Park, Harare.
His post on Facebook read:
<blockquote>Meet Prophet Pambuka. My first ever service is on this Sunday in Houghton Park. Some were asking me the name of the ministry. Its(sic) called Oscar. Pambuka Ministries. Come and see the power of God at work. Bring all the sick and afflicted.</blockquote>
Many were shocked whilst some believe he is just joking. Recently, Pambuka was divorced by his wife Nyasha Pambuka nee Makota. He was also arrested in 2017 together with former ZANU PF MP Psychology Maziwisa and convicted of fraud after swindling the Zimbabwe Power Company of $12 650, and during the same year, he was dumped by the ZBC.

Oscar Pambuka Changes Career ,Takes Up Zim Dancehall

Oscar Pambuka is set to launch his debut Zimdancehall singles album “Moto Wega Wega” on Friday.
Pambuka has more than five singles including a track called Hukama that features Zimdancehall artiste Kinnah. He says he has recorded another song with Kinnah which will be availed on Friday. Said Pambuka:
