Kadoma businessman Eric Tambudze was reportedly shot dead by unknown assailants at his home in West View last Friday.
Tambudze was a multifaceted entrepreneur; he was a farmer, a pharmacist, and operated a chain of bookstores, in addition to being involved in gold mining.
His son, Leslie, told <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200034537/kadoma-businessman-brutally-killed">NewsDay</a> that the assailants did not steal anything from the scene. He said:

I don’t have much to say but that’s what happened. My father was shot dead upon arriving home from work by some people last Friday.
</blockquote>
The spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in Mashonaland West Province, Inspector Ian Kohwera, directed all inquiries to national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, who said he would issue a statement on Monday.
Eric Tambudze is survived by his wife and two children.

Kadoma Businessman Killed In Cold Blood

A 28-year-old man from Kadoma, Edward Chitivha, was brought before the Kadoma Magistrates’ Court on charges of bestiality.
Chitivha, who resides in Tolrose Compound, is accused of sexually assaulting a goat owned by Isheunesu Shangudze, a 40-year-old resident of plot 9 Blagdon Farm, Eiffel Flats.
On the 12th of the month, Shangudze penned his five goats for the night. During the night, Chitivha allegedly entered the goat pen, removed his clothes, and placed them on the ground.
He then tied the legs of a white she-goat to a pole and proceeded to violate the animal.
Shangudze, who was asleep in his house, was awakened by the goat’s cries and went to investigate. 
Upon hearing Shangudze approaching, Chitivha fled the scene, leaving his clothes behind.
A police report was filed, leading to Chitivha’s arrest. He has been remanded in custody to the 17th of September 2024.
In Zimbabwe, bestiality is addressed under the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23].
Specifically, Section 74 of the Act criminalises bestiality, defining it as any sexual act between a human and an animal. It reads:

Any person who knowingly commits any sexual act with an animal or bird shall be guilty of bestiality and 
liable to a fine up to or exceeding level fourteen or imprisonment for a period not exceeding one year or 
both.

A 28-year-old man named Edward Chitivha from Kadoma was arrested for raping a goat. The goat belonged to Isheunesu Shangudze, who heard the goat's cries and caught Chitivha in the act. Chitivha ran away but left his clothes behind. The police caught him and he will be in jail until September 17, 2024. In Zimbabwe, bestiality is illegal under the Criminal Law Act. This means it is a crime for humans to have any sexual contact with animals, like what Chitivha did with the goat.

Kadoma Man (28) Arrested For Raping A Goat

Two men have been arrested for stealing 28 cattle in and around the Turf Area, Kadoma, Mashonaland West Province over a period of thirteen months.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, also confirmed the arrest of two other suspects for allegedly stealing two heifers in Kadoma. Reads the statement:

The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Francis Masvora (54) and Takudzwa Masvora (26) in connection with a spate of stock theft cases in which the suspects stole 28 cattle in and around Turf Area, Kadoma from January 2023 to February 2024.
On the 27th Match 2024, a police crack team acted on received information and raided the two stock theft suspects at their place of residence in Eiffel Flats, Kadoma.
Investigations carried out by the police established that the suspects were in possession of 15 cattle which they failed to account for.
Resultantly, the arrest of the two suspects led to the recovery of eight cows, four heifers, one bull and two calves from the suspects’ kraal, which were all positively identified by five complainants.
Further investigations carried out by the police led to the recovery of 13 cattle which were sold to five buyers. The value of the recovered 28 cattle is US$14 000.00.
In a similar case, police in Kadoma arrested Munashe Mugova (23) and Julius Hlanayi (23) in connection with a case of stock theft which occurred on 16th March 2024 at Pamene Farm, Kadoma in which two heifers were stolen.
On 17th March 2024, the police attended the scene and raided the suspects’ plot. On seeing the police, the two suspects ran away leaving 13 cattle in the kraal.
Two heifers were positively identified by their owner and were subsequently recovered. Investigations by the police unearthed that 11 cattle were suspected to have been stolen and were handed over to the local headman for safekeeping awaiting identification by their rightful owners.
On 28th March 2024, the police acted on received information and conducted a raid at the suspects’ plot in Pamene Farm, Kadoma leading to their arrest.
Meanwhile, on 30th March 2024, police in Chikari acted on received information and arrested a meat vendor, Tawanda Musongeya (38) at his house in Meldon Ace Mine Compound, Chikari.
The police conducted search at his house leading to the recovery of beef amounting to a full carcass. The suspect implicated his brother Hardlife Musongeya and his brother-in-law Praise Mboni as his accomplices. On seeing the police, Hardlife Musongeya and Praise Mboni ran away.
Investigations carried out by the police revealed that the three suspects had assigned their wives Tirevei Jacob (32), Kudzanai Salimu (19) and Noster Simon (34) to sell the meat around Dalny Compound, Chakari. The trio was subsequently arrested.
Tawanda Musongeya led the police to Käbhanga grazing land for indications, where the police established that the suspects stole and slaughtered cattle in Mukamba Area, Chakari.
At the scene, the police recovered one brown hornless cow head, four hooves, offals and one brown hide. The police also noticed four decomposed brown cattle heads and one decomposed black cow head which were all seen at about 15 metres from the scene.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of the two outstanding stock theft suspects, Hardlife Musongeya (25) and Praise Mboni (28) who are being sought in connection with this case.

Two Men Arrested For Stealing 28 Cattle In Kadoma

Police in Mashonaland West Province have launched an investigation into a suspected ritual murder incident after the body of an infant was found hanging from a tree in Kadoma.
In a post on their official X handle, the Police said the body had been burned and was in an advanced state of decomposition. Police said:

ZRP is investigating circumstances surrounding a case of murder in which the body of a yet-to-be-identified male infant approximately one year six months old was found hanging from a tree near Muzvezve River Battlefields, Kadoma on 30 January 2024.
The body of the victim was burnt and in an advanced state of decomposition.

Earlier, the Police said they had discovered three-year-old Caroline Makubhwakwa’s body lying in a gulley at the foot of Mavhuradona Mountain in Guruve on 25 January.
Some of her body parts were missing, raising suspicion the child was murdered for ritual purposes.
There is a belief in some African societies that human body parts, removed while the victim is still alive, can be used to boost one’s business or to create wealth.

Burnt Body Of Baby Boy Found Hanging On A Tree

Two men who were wanted for robbery and murder were arrested on January 27, 2024, after another robbery in Kadoma, Zimbabwe. The suspects attacked the victims and stole their cell phones and cash. They tried to escape but were shot in the legs by the police. They are now in the hospital receiving treatment. In a statement seen by Pindula News, police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the suspects were also wanted for other crimes, including murder, robbery, and malicious property damage. The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Talent Mutandwa (29) and Enock Maseko (35) in connection with a case of robbery which occurred on 27th January 2024 in Rondor, Chakari, Chegutu in which the suspects who were wearing balaclavas and armed with machetes and Colombian knives, attacked two victims before stealing cell phones and unknown amount of cash.
On 27th January 2024, detectives from CID Chegutu acted on received information and arrested Enock Maseko who was aboard a silver Toyota Runx. The suspect’s arrest led to the recovery of a pistol, an okapi knife, a balaclava and machete.
Enock Maseko led the detectives to Ingezi, Kadoma where Talent Mutandwa, was subsequently arrested. Talent Mutandwa’s arrest led to the recovery of a firearm and a dagger.
The suspects led the detectives to Martin Spur, Kadoma where they claimed to have hidden weapons used to commit robbery cases. The detectives shot the two suspects on the legs after they tried to escape during indications. The suspects are currently admitted at a hospital in Chegutu where they are receiving treatment. Investigations by the Police have revealed that the suspects are on warrant of arrest which was issued by Chegutu Magistrates Court on 16th January 2024 after they defaulted bail conditions on a murder case.
The Police has also established that the suspects are clearing cases of murder, robbery, malicious damage to property and attempted murder which occurred on 13th January 2024 at Pfupajena Stadium, Chegutu.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that there is no going back in the fight against robbery cases. Any form of confrontation clashes with Police crack teams will be met with appropriate response.

Two Robbery Suspects Shot After Attempting To Escape From Police During Arrest

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported several crimes that have taken place across the country, including armed robbery, theft and murder. Here are the details of some of the incidents:
1) Robbery: In Karoi, Gift Bento (26) and Tinashe Mbishi (22) were arrested for a robbery that occurred on 16 January 2024 at Jongwe Mine, Nyamahape. The suspects were apprehended by members of the community at Nyangomba Shops after the victim identified them. The stolen items, which included two cellphones, a mini-digital gold scale, a satchel, and clothes, were recovered along with a machete and an axe.
2) Murder: In Kadoma, Samson Katsuro (50) was arrested for a murder that took place on 17 January 2024 at Village 6 Muzvezve 1, Sanyati. The suspect stabbed his cousin, Peter Katsuro (29), multiple times with a Colombian knife during a mining dispute. The victim tragically died at the scene. Additionally, in Mutare, the police are seeking information regarding the murder of John Maparara (31) who was attacked by four unknown suspects with an iron bar at a nightclub in Area 14, Dangamvura. The victim passed away while receiving treatment at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital on 16 January 2024.
3) Murder: In Nyanyadzi, a suspected mental patient named Patrick Dzavamwe (29) was arrested for the brutal killing of his 4-year-old cousin. The incident occurred on 16 January 2024 at Zvavamwe homestead, Svongwa Village, Buhera. The suspect reportedly confessed to committing the crime after waking up from a nightmare. Furthermore, in Chipinge, the police are appealing for information regarding the murder of Peter Sithole Machaka (19), who was found dead in a pool of blood at Plot 13 Glendalough Farm.
4) Electrocuted Thieves: Two individuals, Lawrence Chimedza and Tinotenda Chireya, sustained severe injuries while attempting to steal ZETDC copper cables at a farm in Mazowe. The incident involved an electric shock that occurred during their theft endeavour. Fortunately, farm residents discovered them lying on the ground and promptly came to their aid.
Since the occurrence in March 2023, Lawrence Chimedza and Tinotenda Chireya have been receiving medical care while hospitalised. Recently, they were brought before the Concession magistrates’ court, where they were remanded in custody until their trial, scheduled for Friday. The state, represented by Munyaradzi Nengomasha, alleged that on March 25, 2023, the two suspects unlawfully entered Plot 12 Welbeck in Mazowe to steal approximately 700 meters of ZETDC copper cables. During their unlawful act, they cut an overhead copper cable, causing a pylon to collapse onto them.
The impact of the falling pylon, combined with the electric current from the overhead cable, resulted in the suspects suffering from electrocution, rendering them unable to escape. Consequently, they were apprehended and transported to the hospital, where they were admitted for medical treatment.

Crime Watch: Armed Robbers Arrested, Copper Cable Thieves Electrocuted, Murder Suspects Arrested

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) statement on the fatal shooting of three armed robbery suspects in a shootout with the police in Kadoma:

ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS AFTER A SHOOT-OUT INCIDENT IN INGEZI, KADOMA
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of two foreign national armed robbery suspects after a shootout incident in which Peter Ngulube (38), Shylock Makoni (41) and Tendai Madiki (52) died at Tandara Shopping Centre, Ingezi, Kadoma.
On 05th December 2023, detectives from CID Homicide, Bulawayo acted on received information and arrested two foreign national suspects in Bulawayo.
The two suspects admitted to committing several armed robberies around Bulawayo and they revealed that they were in transit to Kadoma where they would meet their accomplices, Peter Ngulube, Shylock Makoni and Tendai Madiki intending to commit another robbery.
The two suspects led the detectives to Tandara Shopping Centre, Ingezi Kadoma where they positively identified the three suspects who were driving a silver Toyota Raider D4D registration number AFR 4376 to the detectives.
On seeing the detectives, the suspects opened fire whilst speeding off and a shootout ensued.
The detectives searched the suspects’ motor vehicle and recovered an A.38 Smith and Wilson Revolver with one round, seven spent cartridges, two gas-operated pellet guns, a bolt cutter, a crowbar, a machete, a pepper spray, two balaclavas and three pairs of woollen gloves.
Two suspects, Peter Ngulube and Shylock Makoni were seriously injured and were rushed to Kadoma General Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Tendai Madiki was shot when he tried to run away during indications in Muzvezve, Kadoma where detectives were recovering other weapons used to commit criminal acts by the suspects. The suspect was taken to Kadoma General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspects are also clearing two (02) stock theft cases which occurred at Chivuyini Village, Chief Sitaudze, Beitbridge, where two she-goats were stolen and another which occurred at Chogomere Village, Chief Matibe, Beitbridge where two goats were stolen.

Three Armed Robbery Suspects Killed In Kadoma Shootout With Detectives

The Meteorological Services Department, together with the Department of Civil Protection, predicts cloudy weather across most of Zimbabwe this week.
In a weather report and forecast issued on Monday 23 October 2023, the MSD said thundershowers were widespread, especially in the eastern and central regions, with the highest recorded precipitation in Masvingo, Zvishavane, and Mhondoro. Bulawayo also experienced rainfall. Certain areas, including Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Masvingo, and Manicaland provinces, saw cloudy, windy, and cold conditions due to rising pressure in the south.
Tomorrow, cloudy conditions with periodic thundershowers are expected in Mashonaland provinces, Harare metropolitan, and Manicaland, while the rest of the country should be partly cloudy and cool in the morning, becoming warmer later in the day. Thunderstorms may bring wind gusts and lightning, making roads slippery and reducing visibility. It is important to drive carefully and find safe shelter during thunderstorms and avoid crossing flooded rivers. Additionally, as the rainy season begins, it is advisable to protect oneself from mosquitoes, which multiply during this time.
On Wednesday, cloudiness is expected to decrease across the country, resulting in mostly sunny conditions. However, isolated thunderstorms may occur in Matabeleland North, northern parts of Midlands, Mashonaland provinces, Harare metropolitan, and Manicaland provinces.

MSD Predicts Cloudy Weather Across Most Of Zimbabwe To Continue

Kadoma Mayor Action Nyamukondiwa and three other MDC-T councillors were recalled after being expelled from the opposition party.
Nyamukondiwa, representing Ward 9, and the other councillors representing Wards 3, 4, and 15 had their positions declared vacant in a letter from Minister of Local Government and Public Works July Moyo to Kadoma town clerk Mr Malvern Dondo. He said:

I wish to inform you that I am in receipt of a letter from the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) stating that Councillor Action Nyamukondiwa of Ward 9, Councillor Edson Muzira Ward 4, Councillor Nigel Rozario Ward 15 and Councillor Michael Mvura Ward 3 have been expelled from the party.
In terms of Section 278(1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe as read with Section (1)(k), the above-mentioned wards are now vacant. In terms of Section 121 of the Electoral Act, please proceed to inform the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission of these vacancies.

The opposition party MDC (Movement for Democratic Change) has been recalling councillors and MPs (Members of Parliament) mainly for their allegiance to the rival Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Nelson Chamisa.
The recalls started immediately after the Supreme Court had ruled that Chamisa was not the legitimate leader of the MDC. There were internal disagreements and power struggles within the MDC party following the demise of founding leader, Morgan Tsvangirai.
The recalls have led to changes in the political landscape of Zimbabwe, with some seats being left vacant and by-elections being held to fill them.

Four MDC-T Councillors, Including Kadoma Mayor, Recalled

Police in Gweru, Midlands Province, are searching for Gerald Takunda Machimula (40) from Kadoma for defrauding his employer, Geo Associates Private Limited, of over US$134,000.
Machimula represented the company in Midlands Province and sold mine claims on behalf of the company but did not remit the money. An audit later revealed the fraud, and it was found that he submitted counterfeit receipts and certificates. 
Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident. Said Inspector Mahoko:

The suspect was employed by Geo Associates, a Harare-based company which owns mining claims in and around Midlands Province. The suspect was the company’s representative based in Midlands Province.

Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko stated that the audit revealed Machimula had sold several claims but did not submit the money to the company. Machimula issued counterfeit receipts and certificates to conceal his fraudulent activities and later absconded.
Inspector Mahoko appealed to the public to report any information that could lead to the arrest of Machimula. He urged individuals to approach CID Gweru or the nearest police station with such information.
The offence of fraud is governed by section 136 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act (Chapter 9:23). The penalty depends on the seriousness of the matter and offenders can be fined or imprisoned or both.

Police Seek Kadoma Man For Defrauding Employer Of Over US$134 000

Clear skies should be predominant across the country with some scattered clouds expected to develop over the northern districts of Harare Metropolitan, all Mashonaland, and Matabeleland North provinces. It should be cool in the morning becoming warm as the day progresses.

MSD Forecasts Clear Skies Across Zimbabwe

A 16-year-old girl from Gokwe who was allegedly abducted by suspected ZANU PF supporters was dumped in Kadoma.
Chairmaine Chiremba, a learner at Njelele High School, was kidnapped in the early hours of Wednesday according to her father Christopher.
Christopher told the <a href="https://newsday.co.zw/southerneye/local-news/article/200009575/abducted-gokwe-girl-dumped-in-kadoma">Southern Eye</a> that Chairmaine was at Kadoma Police Station. He said:

I am currently getting information that she is housed at Kadoma police and is safe.
She was dumped along the highway by a black (Toyota) Wish car with no number plates.
She is still in custody at Kadoma Police Station and they said they are making arrangements to ferry her to Gokwe centre.

He said they realised Charmaine was missing when her mother went to wake her up to prepare for school. 
Her mother found blood stains on the veranda of their bedroom and a note written ‘usivhotela ZANU PF mwana tatora’.
The note was written in a Shona dialect spoken in Gokwe, translated to “you should vote for ZANU PF, we have taken the child”.
Chiremba suspects his child was targeted because, in 2013, his wife contested for councillor under the MDC-T banner and lost. He added:

Abducted Gokwe Girl (16) Found In Kadoma

The cloud band to the west of the country as well as moisture from the north resulted in isolated thunderstorms over the northwestern and eastern parts of the country. The highest rainfall was at; Tsholotsho (40mm), Marondera (21mm), Nkayi (17mm) and Victoria Falls (13mm). Meanwhile, the cloud band remains stationary in the west of the country and is not expected to cause significant changes during the forecast period.

 Isolated thunderstorms are expected in the western parts of the country, that is in Matabeleland North and Matabeleland South provinces. MSD Forecasts Isolated Thunderstorms, Thundershowers - 24-26 March 2023

Police have launched a manhunt for one Evans Vengwa who allegedly hit six pedestrians along Kadoma Patchway Road on 22 January this year.
Police said the suspect, who was driving a Honda Fit vehicle, abandoned the car at the scene of the accident and fled.
The victims were rushed to Kadoma Hospital where two died upon admission. Police said:

The ZRP is appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Evans Vengwa, NR 10-007291-R-10, who is being sought in connection with a hit-and-run fatal road traffic accident that occurred on 22/01/23 along Kadoma Patchway Road.
The suspect, who was driving a Honda Fit vehicle, hit six pedestrians who were walking along the road. Subsequently, after the accident, the suspect ran away leaving the vehicle at the scene.
The victims were taken to Kadoma Hospital where two died upon admission. The suspect’s last known addresses are 2762 Munhumutapa Kadoma and Mudzimu Village, Nyamapanda.

Honda Fit Driver Ploughs Into Six Pedestrians In Kadoma

Zimbabwe Weather Report, Forecast: 4 - 6 March 2023

A disciplinary tribunal set by the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Law_Society_of_Zimbabwe">Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ)</a>, has recommended that Ignatius Murambasvina, a <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Kadoma">Kadoma</a>-based lawyer, be deregistered for unprofessional, dishonourable and unworthy conduct.
Murambasvina is a senior partner at Ignatius Murambasvina Legal Practitioners.
The four-member tribunal was chaired by Felistas Chatukuta, deputised by Joseph Musakwa with Davison Kanokanga and Sarah Moyo as members.
It ordered that Murambasvina’s name be removed from the register of legal practitioners, notaries and public conveyancers.
The LSZ confirmed to <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200007753/kadoma-top-lawyer-deregistered">NewsDay</a> that the lawyer had been deregistered.
The judgment, which was rendered on January 25, 2023, stated in part:

He had been charged with contravening s 23 (1) (c) of the Legal Practitioners Act [ Chapter 27:07 ] as read with sections 70 E and 70 F of the LSZ regulations, 1982 (SI 314 of 1982) and s23 (2) (b) of the Act.
</blockquote>
It was established that Murambasvina, had been instructed by a client, Maraja Investments Private Limited, t/a Kurima Gold to collect various amounts totalling US$114 000 owed by some 33 debtors.
The ruling noted that despite having been paid a US$1 000 deposit towards his fees, Murambasvina failed to fully account to the client in respect of the collections he made from debtors.
On the second charge, the ruling stated:

As at the date of the letter of complaint, the respondent (Murambasvina) had not furnished Messrs Chitewe Law Practice or client with an account of the client’s portfolio despite numerous communications with the respondent both, telephonically and in writing.
</blockquote>
Murambasvina was also accused of blocking the law firm, Messrs Chitewe Law Practice, from taking over the agency at the request of a client when complainants sought alternative legal representation.
The ruling notes that it was proved that on February 17, 2014, Messrs Chitewe Law Practice requested in writing that Murambasvina renounce the agency to enable the firm to carry out the client’s instructions.
Murambasvina was also accused of showing “no remorse and was not a fit and proper person to continue practising law”.
The tribunal concluded that Murambasvina’s conduct had tarnished the integrity of the legal profession and ordered him to pay the expenses incurred by the applicant.

Another Lawyer Deregistered Over Unworthy Conduct

A 62-year-old woman has been arrested in Darwendale on allegations of killing her 81-year-old husband on Sunday following a fight over allegations of infidelity.
Mary Banda is alleged to have fought with her husband Nira Benet (81) who was confirmed dead on arrival at Father O’Hea Hospital from breathing disorders.
A report was made to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) leading to the arrest of Banda.
Banda and Benet had been fighting when Benet developed challenges in breathing and was rushed to Father O’Hea Hospital, The Herald reported citing National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi. 
He was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police in Kadoma have arrested three wanted persons, Darlington Daniel Mawuta Pichesi (18), Richard Pichesi (18) and Clifford Stanford Chibhutu in connection with a case of robbery and two cases of theft which occurred in Kadoma in August 2022.
Investigations by the Police linked the suspects to another case of theft, where they stole two solar panels in Kadoma in November 2022. 
Meanwhile, police in Bulawayo arrested Thulani Banda (30) on Sunday for a robbery in which he and an accomplice, still at large, robbed a taxi driver of a Honda Fit vehicle, a cellphone and US$100 cash at Nhliziyo Shopping Centre, Entumbane.
Police recovered the stolen vehicle from Banda. 
In another case, police arrested Tinashe Joram (32) for stealing a motor vehicle in Norton on Sunday at about 11 am. The suspect stole a Toyota Corolla vehicle (ABX 4962) which was left unattended by the complainant with the keys in the ignition.

A 62-year-old Woman Arrested For Killing Her 81-year-old Husband

A 21-year-old man from Kadoma is on the run after axing his brother’s 2-year-old daughter to death following a dispute in which he accused his relatives of bewitching him. 
In a report seen by Pindula News, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said Tryforcer Moy was drunk when he axed his niece. Reads the report:

Police in Chakari are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Tryforcer Moyo (21) who is wanted in connection with a case of murder where a minor (2) died whilst admitted at Kadoma General Hospital after she was struck once on the head with an axe on 16/09/22 at Delcia B1. The suspect who was drunk and violent accused some family members of bewitching him before attacking the victim who was his brother’s daughter.

Reported cases of domestic violence have been resulting in loss of life have been on the rise.
Authorities urge members of the public to resolve their disputes amicably. 
Meanwhile, witchcraft is a common phenomenon in the African context with many blaming misfortunes on “witches” who they say would have cast spells on them. 
Some approach traditional healers (n’anga/nyanga/Maine) or prophets to protect themselves from the “spells.”
 Meanwhile, some believe that those blaming witchcraft will be delusional and can be healed if they get professional assistance from psychologists.

Man Axes 2-year-old Niece Accusing Relatives Of Bewitching Him

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) on Tuesday arrested a security guard, Lovemore Munare (33) in Kadoma for a case of murder that occurred at Muswerakuenda Farm Compound, Patchway. 
The suspect reportedly shot the victim, Average Muchenjeri (23) with a Star pistol on the stomach during a scuffle in which the suspect tried to seize a gold detector that the victim and the other two people were using to prospect for gold nuggets. 
The victim died upon arrival at Kadoma General Hospital.
In a related case of violence in the mining sector, a 21-year-old artisanal miner was struck with an iron bar in Mberengwa before falling to death in a shaft while fighting over food rations.
The now-deceased has been identified as Grey Tanaka Mugumira (21).
Police have confirmed the arrest of the suspected murderer identified as Vusimuzi Tshuma (37). In a statement seen by Pindula News, police said:

Police in Mberengwa arrested Vusumuzi Tshuma (37) in connection with a case of murder which occurred on February 12, 2022 at Honyohwe village.
The suspect who is an artisanal miner hit the victim, Grey Tanaka Mugumira (21) with an iron rod once on the back of the head after an argument over food.

The police added that the victim fell in the mine shaft approximately 10 metres deep and died on the spot.

Security Guard Shoots Man In A Scuffle Over A Gold Detector

Chief Samuel Neuso of Sanyati has ordered a Chinese national accused of marrying a minor to pay four cattle, three sheep and an unspecified amount of money as a fine for the offence. 
The Chinese national only identified as Yan, an engineer at Rongxin/Mambo Mine about 75km from Kadoma in Mashonaland West province, was summoned to appear before the chief’s court on Sunday 23 January 2022 to answer to the charge.
Yan pleaded guilty to violating traditional values when he married a 15-year-old minor on November 26, 2021. Chief Neuso also found the Chinese’s in-laws guilty of the offence.
The forced marriage came to light after being exposed by NewsDay in December last year. Sources claim that the minor is now pregnant. Said a source:

It has been resolved that the pregnant minor must go back to her parents and return to Yan when she turns 16.
</blockquote>
The minor (name withheld) was doing Form 3 when she was married off to Yan after he paid US$2 000 in bride price.
Yan was accompanied by his go-between, Clement Chimbunde, during the weekend traditional court hearing.
Sources in Sanyati said most poor families in the area were marrying off their underage daughters to Chinese miners.
Recently, Women Affairs, Small and Medium Enterprises minister Sithembiso Nyoni said all Chinese nationals who marry minors should be arrested and deported.

Chinese National Marries Minor, Ordered To Pay Four Cattle

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) this Sunday reported that <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/12/26/four-people-shot-dead-in-brawl-on-christmas-day/">four people were shot dead on Christmas Day in Kadoma during a brawl</a> that followed a misunderstanding between one of the victims and the suspect who was drinking beer at Wanganui Shopping Centre, Turf, Kadoma.
A police statement said the shooter was involved in a brawl with one of the victims before a mob joined. A police statement read:
<blockquote>
The ZRP is investigating a shooting incident which occurred at Wanganui Shopping Centre, Turf, Kadoma on 25/12/21 at about 1800 hours, where four people were shot dead while three others were seriously injured after a misunderstanding.
It is alleged that an unidentified suspect from Caviga Farm, Kwekwe who was drinking beer at the shopping centre was involved in a brawl with one of the victims before a mob joined in and pursued the suspect. The suspect fired shots in the air &amp; eventually shot seven people.

NewZimbabwe.com was told that the suspect in the shooting was a Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) officer in uniform who was in the company of colleagues.
The suspect was allegedly having an affair with a minor girl aged 15, a development that angered the minor’s father who later confronted the soldier over the affair.
A mob gathered and intervened forcing the soldier and his colleagues to flee from the shopping centre.
The officer fired two warning shots into the air, but the mob pursued him and in retaliation, he shot at the mob killing three on the spot.
One of the injured people died on the way to the hospital while three of the injured were taken to Chegutu Hospital.

Four people were shot dead on Christmas Day in Kadoma during a brawl that followed a misunderstanding between one of the victims and the suspect who was drinking beer.

Four People Shot Dead In Brawl On Christmas Day

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has said that at least 5 people were injured in fights for the control of a mine in Kadoma. In a statement thread posted on Twitter ZRP said machetes, Knives, Axes, and Rekeni were used in the fight. The extent of the injuries was not disclosed.
Said the statement:

The ZRP confirms that reports of mining disputes and violence at village 5 Lornkope, Kadoma were received and investigations are continuing.
So far ring leaders, Adrian Zvivada (20), Last Mahlatini (29) and Farai Hakamela (26) have been arrested while 14 other panners were accounted for on 10/09/21. 5 complainants, who were injured in the machete, axis, knives and catapults violence, have made reports to the Police
The two syndicates fighting for control of the mine should lead by example and shun violence. The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development is now handling the issue with an order being given for all mining activities to stop.
The ZRP warns individuals and groups involved that arrests will be effected irrespective of one’s status or political inclination.

Several Injured As Miners Battle With Machetes, Axes, Knives, Rekeni in Kadoma - ZRP

Clemence Moyo, a soldier and member of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) was heavily assaulted and stabbed to death in Kadoma over a bar lady.
Reports suggest that on July 25 Moyo went to a local bar in Kadoma around 7 pm to drink beer, he saw Lydia Zhou a bar lady and proposed.
Zhou turned the soldier down and the two suspects Silas Siyamusimbe (26) and Johanese Twalidi (24) arrived and started pushing Moyo away.
They assaulted him with open hands and Siyamusimbe broke a bottle before stabbing Moyo in the neck.
Prosecutor Tafadzwa Vhore said the soldier fell down and died on the spot.
The duo vanished after the mob surrounded the dead body and were later arrested.
The assailants were dragged to Kadoma magistrates courts on Monday for allegedly killing Moyo.
Magistrate Shingirai Mutiro did not ask them to plead to a murder charge and remanded them in custody to August 13.

Soldier Stabbed To Death Over Bar Lady

A 3 months old baby from Kadoma has tested positive for COVID-19, Newsday reports. This was revealed by Kadoma health services director Daniel Chirundu who was speaking on the sidelines of the Mashonaland West Edutech Wash Project which was being commissioned by Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs minister Mary Mliswa-Chikoka on Friday.
Chirundu said:
<blockquote>In Zimbabwe, we have 265 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of yesterday (Thursday). Here in Kadoma district, we have had numerous suspects and we now have three confirmed cases which we are handling as a district. Among them is a three-month-old baby. With that we have broken the world record of being an area where there is the youngest person to test positive. We are not proud of that record.</blockquote>

3 Months Old Kadoma Baby Tests Positive For COVID-19

More than 5 000 households are starving behind locked doors in the city of Kadoma, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Mashonaland_West_Province" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Mashonaland West Province</a> since the 21-day national lockdown was imposed.
<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Kadoma" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Kadoma</a> Central MP Muchineripi Chinyanganya told NewZimbabwe.com over the weekend that most the city’s residents work in the informal sector following the collapse of the manufacturing industry. He said:
<blockquote>The majority of people in Kadoma live from hand to mouth through the informal sector due to a collapsed economy and industry.
The fact that people have been ordered to stay under lockdown for 21 days means their sources of income have been cut off and consequently they will not be able to put food on their tables.</blockquote>
The government recently relaxed lockdown restrictions to allow farmers to sell fresh produce to make food readily available across the country.
However, other activities that are deemed non-essential for the nation at large remain banned as the country tries to control the spread fo the novel coronavirus.

'Over 5 000 Kadoma Households Starving Behind Locked Doors'

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Kadoma">Kadoma</a> City council workers reportedly downed their tools today demanding a pay rise, The Herald reports. The workers also demanded the town clerk’s head on a platter as they claimed he is corrupt and he must be fired.
According to the publication:
<blockquote>(They) were demonstrating against management’s decision to connive and peg its education allowances at $13 000 while the general employees are getting $380.
Further, the workers are demanding the immediate ouster of the town clerk <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Malvern_Dondo">Malvern Dondo</a> whom they also accuse of pocketing a hefty salary of about $30 000 while the least paid worker is getting $779.</blockquote>
The police were reportedly called to disperse the angry crowd that had gathered outside the townhouse.

Kadoma Council Workers Demonstrate Against Management - Report

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has warned the public against moving around with large amounts of money as they may fall prey to robbers.
This follows the flagging of a Kadoma man recently who was found in possession of RTGS$23 949.00. Said the police in a statement:
<blockquote>Police in Kadoma has interviewed Mukarobwa Nyasha Godblessing for possibly Contravening Section 46 (1)(a) of the Finance Act, 2018 after he was found in possession of RTGS$23 940, 00 in suspicious circumstances in his Toyota Altezza vehicle.
He failed to give a satisfactory explanation for possessing such large sums of money. We reiterate our warning to members of the public to avoid carrying/keeping large sums of money in their premises/vehicles as they may fall victim to robbers.</blockquote>
