Veteran musician <a href="https://wiki.pindula.co.zw/Hosiah_Chipanga">Hosiah Chipanga</a> has expressed his disappointment after the organisers of the Independence Gala in Murambinda excluded him from the list of performing artists for tomorrow’s event.
Ironically, the highly anticipated Uhuru Gala is taking place in Chipanga’s home province of Manicaland.
In a social media post, Chipanga claimed that the organisers informed him that he had been excluded from performing at the event for criticising the government. Wrote Chipanga:

I am deeply hurt, my family, friends and fans that even though I am a citizen and musician of Zimbabwe I will not be able to perform and celebrate the 44 years of independence in Murambinda, Manicaland which is also my hometown. Organisers from the Information Ministry said I criticise the government.

The gala is set for Murambinda B High School as part of the country’s 44th independence celebrations and admission is free.
Some of the musicians expected to grace the occasion are Sulumani Chimbetu, Nicholas Zacharia, Sandra Ndebele, Diana Samkange, Mark Ngwazi, Simon Mutambi, Shantel Sithole, Chillspot Family, and Jah Master.
Zimbabwe celebrates its independence from Great Britain on April 18, which came about in 1980 after 16 years of a protracted bush war that claimed the lives of thousands of people.
This year’s independence celebrations will be running under the theme Zim@44: Unity, Peace and Development Towards Vision 2030.

Hosiah Chipanga "Hurt" By Uhuru Gala Line-up Exclusion

Mutare-based satirical musician, social commentator, and cleric, Hosiah Chipanga, says he will release his 29th album this January.
The new five-track album will be titled “Denga Itsva Nenyika Itsva”, which means “A New Heaven and New Earth”.
Speaking to NewsDay, Chipanga, who rebranded his Broadway Sounds to Vaparidzi Veshoko in 2007, and is also the founder of Messiah Apostolic Prophetically Inspired People’s Institution or MAPIPI in short said:

I am releasing my 29th Album Denga Itsva Nenyika Itsva this month. My number of years in the field would have tallied with my albums, had it not that for almost 10 years I was denied to record some albums since my first single project in late 1979 was banned by the then Zimbabwe-Rhodesia authorities.
Now with the approval and recognition of a higher-level institution on land that has awarded or decorated me with a degree in philosophy, the dawn has come.
The source and the inspiration of my life and music derive from the Will of God to have me help Africa and the world at large establish the Kingdom of God here on earth.

Hosiah Chipanga Set To Release 29th Album

Zimbabwean sungura musician <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Hosiah_Chipanga">Hosiah Chipanga</a> has received an honorary PhD from Trinity International Bible University.
The Kwachu-kwachu hitmaker posted pictures on social media announcing the development.
Trinity International Bible University is a private institution of higher learning based in Africa which has achieved international accreditation from Dunamis Degree Accreditation Association (DDAA) and CCLP Worldwide Education Charter and the International Board of Quality Standards (BQS). 
Apart from music, Chipanga formed a church Messiah Apostolic Prophetically Inspired People’s Institution (MAPIPI) which he later turned into a political party.

Hosiah "Kwachu Kwachu" Chipanga Gets PhD

The leader of the opposition party, Patriotic Zimbabwe, Hosiah Chipanga, says he is no longer interested in contesting the 2023 presidential election after he met President Emmerson Mnangagwa face to face.
Chipanga, who is also a musician, said he launched his political to trick the President into meeting him. He said:

I will no longer contest elections in 2023. I will vote for President Mnangagwa. My party was a trick to make me meet the President of my country.
For the past 40 years, I have tried by all means known to me to meet the President of my country, the late and the current one to no avail.

Opposition Leader Says He Won't Contest 2023 Presidential Election

Musician-cum-politician, Hosiah Chipanga, said he was happy to finally meet President Emmerson Mnangagwa and talk to him.
Chipanga (70) came face to face with Mnangagwa last week on Saturday during a ZANU PF rally at Beaulieu Primary School in Mutasa South.
Speaking during an interview with <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/he-is-a-listening-president-chipanga/">The Manica Post</a>, Chipanga said he is convinced Mnangagwa is a listening president. Said Chipanga:
<blockquote>
Mwari vakapindira (God has intervened). This is the greatest day of my life. It is not a secret that I longed for this day.
I waited for so many years to meet President Mnangagwa.
It is only God who has made it possible and I am forever grateful. It was God’s time.
Although we did not have much time to talk, this was a mission accomplished. One of the reasons I formed a political party was to ensure that my messages would be heard by the people and the President.
Years back, it was not easy to get such an opportunity.
Besides being a social commentator who conveys messages through music, I believe being a politician has made me a sought-after musician.
I managed to talk to him and I am convinced that he is a listening President.

Chipanga took to the stage during the rally and played the track “Diabetes”, drawn from his yet-to-be-released album, “Denga Idzva Nenyika Idzva”; as well as “Vatsigiri Vangu”, a song dedicated to his fans.

Mnangagwa Is A Listening President, Says Hosiah Chipanga

Hosiah Chipanga and Baba Harare were among several musicians who performed at a ZANU PF “Thank You Rally” at Beauliu Toronto Primary School in Mutasa South Constituency on Saturday.
The duo’s presence at the rally, which was addressed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has given rise to speculation that they are “Prodigal Sons” who have come to their senses at decided to return “home” to ZANU PF as they have been perceived to be anti-ZANU PF.
Chipanga, who is based in Manicaland, has in the past accused the ruling party of corruption and bad governance.
In 2013, the Sungura musician converted his church MAPIPI into a political party in order to contest the harmonised elections that were held in the same year.
In 2014, he used his Facebook page to criticise ZANU PF for allegedly undermining the objectives of the liberation struggle.
Meanwhile, Baba Harare, whose real name is Braveman Chizvino, performed for the MDC when the party commemorated its 20th anniversary under the leadership of Nelson Chamisa.
Early this year, Baba Harare clashed with ZANU PF sympathisers on Twitter after sharing a message on social media urging the youth to register to vote.
In Zimbabwe, calling for the youth to register to vote makes one be perceived as an opposition sympathiser as it has been CCC that has been urging young people to have their names on the voters’ roll.
However, Baba Harare has insisted that voter registration is non-partisan and a constitutional right.
His performance at Beauliu Toronto Primary School yesterday was immediately “celebrated” by ZANU PF apologists who claimed that Baba had “returned home.”
The contemporary Jiti musician took to Twitter to explain his encounter with Mnangagwa. He wrote:

Legendary Sungura musician, Hosiah Chipanga, is banking on his fans to support his newly-formed political party called Patriotic Zimbabwe.

Popular Musician Hosiah Chipanga has revived his bid to meet President Emmerson Mnangagwa as he says he wants to deliver a special message to President Mnangagwa, Tell Zim reports.
Chipanga who claims his message could save Zimbabwe’s turmoils says the country is cursed and the curse began after the 2017 coup that toppled Robert Mugabe from power.
Speaking to the publication, the musician cum preacher cum politician said:

Manicaland-based musician Hosiah Chipanga said President Emmerson Mnangagwa is surrounded by crooks and liars who are misleading him all the time and blocking ordinary citizens from meeting him.
Chipanga told Zim Morning Post that when he was Defence Minister, Mnangagwa was down to earth and approachable but now too much bureaucracy has made him distant. Said Chipanga:
<blockquote>Do you know that before (Mnangagwa) became the President of Zimbabwe he was humble enough to invite and chat with me in his office when he was the Minister of Defense?
Our problem is not of our leaders but close jealous party members who are so close to him who will block people like me.
Our President is surrounded by selfish crooks who are fake praise singers, feeding him with poisonous lies every day protecting their selfish egos.
Why and how on earth can a harmless and poor musician like myself be denied access to meet my President?

Chipanga warned President Mnangagwa against being like the late former president Robert Mugabe who was overthrown in a popular military coup in November and died a bitter man in Singapore in 2019.
He said Mugabe was spoiled by his followers into becoming an unreachable dictator and his successor may find himself in the same predicament.

Sungura musician Hosiah Chipanga has expressed anger over police’s delay in executing a court order that directs his nemesis to vacate a piece of and he purchased in 2005.
Chipanga alleges that the wrangle with a female relative of the person who sold him the land in Mutasa has been going on since 2015 when he bought the rural home through an estate agent following a newspaper advert.
The Kwachu-kwachu hit-maker claims that his nemesis is now erecting a structure. Speaking to Zim Morning Post, Chipanga said:
<blockquote>I reported the contempt of court to the police. She was never arrested. I had obtained a Peace Order against her, which she again breached by scolding me, uttering all the vulgar words on the planet,” said the Kwachu Kwachu hit-maker.
I again reported her to the police and on the court date, she was again nowhere to be found and the court granted me a warrant of arrest. Up to this day, she was never arrested… The woman later applied for a rescission against the default judgement.</blockquote>
Police are now asking him for the location of the estate agent who sold him the homestead 15 years ago saying those were their orders.

Mutare-based sungura musician Hosiah Chipanga claims that he has been frustrated in his attempts to meet the former President Robert Mugabe and his successor Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Chipanga says he wanted to meet the country’s leaders to have brief them on how to put Zimbabwe on the path to economic prosperity.
The controversial singer-cum-cleric believes that Zimbabwe’s crises could have been avoided had the country’s leaders followed God’s route of governance. Said Chipanga:

Hosiah Chipanga: I'm Not A Spent Force, I Will Not Lose Hope

Hosiah Chipanga has said that he is now farming in Watsomba after the collapse of his music band.
Speaking to the Herald, Chipanga said that his band, Vaparidzi Veshoko had totally collapsed. He said:
<blockquote>All is not well my brother. It is now difficult to say we still have a band as it is no longer sustainable. I am left with one or two loyal members who I usually call whenever someone with his money call for our services.
Most of my band members are now pursuing other things to sustain their families as music was no longer paying us. We are all surviving on doing menial jobs and it was the only way we realised we can sustain lives because we no longer regularly get shows. I am now farming in Watsomba where I can afford to take some to maize GMB (Grain Marketing Board) and get paid.</blockquote>

Musician Hosiah Chipanga has claimed that the government banned his songs because they “prophesied” what was going to happen unless President Robert Mugabe acted on corruption. In an interview, with the Daily News, Chipanga said Mugabe now needed to be rescued from the situation he had created. He also revealed that he is going to challenge Mugabe in next year’s elections.

Sungura musician <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Hosiah_Chipanga" target="_blank">Hosiah Chipanga</a> is mulling taking the government to court for “banning” hi latest album.  Chipanga’s latest album is titled “Gamba” (Hero) and is pregnant with political meaning.  In the album Chipanga questions the mysterious deaths of <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Solomon_Mujurru" target="_blank">Solomon Mujuru</a>, <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Herbert_Chitepo" target="_blank">Herbert </a>Chitepo and <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Josiah_Tongogara" target="_blank">Josiah Tongogara</a>.
Speaking to the Weekend Post Chipanga said:
<blockquote>I will approach the courts for redress because government wants to starve me to death since music is my only source of living. They are very cruel indeed,
…The only thing I received from Zanu PF is the sabotage of my music both on the radio and on the market and isolating me from all State linked functions.</blockquote>
