An 18-year-old woman from Murisa Park, Unit O, Chitungwiza, has been sentenced to 210 hours of community service by the Harare Magistrates’ Court for forging her Ordinary Level results.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Shamiso Pretty Bvukure was arraigned before the court for contravening the Zimbabwe Examination Act.
The court heard that on October 11, 2024, the Police General Headquarters recruiting section requested verification of Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) results for several applicants.
Upon verification, police discovered that Bvukure’s results slip was forged, with alterations in Mathematics (from U to C), English Language (from U to B), Shona Language (from E to A), and History (from U to A). Combined Science and Commerce were also added to the slip.
Bvukure was arrested, subsequently appeared in court, and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment, with 6 months suspended for 5 years.
The remaining 6 months were suspended on the condition that she complete 210 hours of community service.

An 18-year-old girl named Shamiso from Chitungwiza was caught with fake exam results when she tried to join the police. She changed her grades to make them look better. She was caught and sentenced to do community service for 210 hours. The police found out about the forgery when they checked her results. Shamiso was given a 1-year prison sentence, but only has to go to jail for 6 months. She has to finish community service to avoid the other 6 months in jail.

Chitungwiza Teen Attempts To Join ZRP Using Forged O-Level Results

Three individuals from Harare appeared in court before Magistrate Stanford Mambanje on Wednesday, facing charges of forgery after they allegedly created fake Ordinary Level certificates to gain admission into foreign universities.
The accused are, Cindy Mutswatiwa (29), Kundai Mutape (39), and Malvern Nengomasha (32). Molyn Mugodi (40) is also charged in this case, but is currently at large.
According to the allegations, in June 2022, Mugodi was arrested by officers from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) for creating fake national identity cards, which were used to defraud pensioners. Mugodi’s computer and printer were used to produce several fake Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (Zimsec) Ordinary and Advanced Level certificates. Investigators discovered that Mugodi was working with the three accused in a scheme where they would authenticate the forged certificates at the Foreign Affairs Ministry for a fee.
Mutswatiwa allegedly forged her Ordinary Level certificate in January 2022 to apply for a degree in Dentistry at the University of Donetsk in Ukraine. Mugodi also created a fake certificate for Mutape. Each of the accused was granted bail of $200,000.

Trio In Court For Creating Fake O' Level Certificates To Be Admitted Into Foreign Universities

A Zimbabwean woman was arrested for allegedly forging her living husband’s death certificate and using it to secure employment in Thailand.
Resistance Tariro Matiashe (36) is being charged with forgery as defined in Section 137 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23.
Matiashe reportedly works as a teacher in the Southeast Asian country.
She was not asked to plead to the forgery charges when she appeared before Mutare provincial magistrate, Langton Carter, last week on Saturday.
Matiashe was remanded in custody to Tuesday when she was granted $50 000 bail. She will be back in court on 18 July.
She was also ordered to surrender her passport to the Clerk of Court and not to interfere with State witnesses.
Prosecuting, Nyasha Mukonyora told the court that on 27 June Canan Matiashe, Resistance’s brother-in-law received information from Resistance’s colleague in Thailand that his brother, Justin Matiashe, had been involved in a road traffic accident and had died on the spot.
It was further alleged that after receiving the news, Canan called Justin’s number and the latter answered the call. Said Mukonyora:
To his surprise, Justin was alive and doing well. Canan then told the lady in Thailand that his brother was doing well and was alive.
The woman then sent him a burial order which was registered in Justin’s name and told him that Resistance, who is currently on holiday in Zimbabwe, had sent her the copy.
She said the order had been sent as proof that Justin had died.
A copy of a Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) accident summary report had also been sent as proof that Justin had been involved in an accident and had died on the spot.
Canan then informed his brother about the matter and advised him to make a police report.
The matter was reported at Mutare Central Police Station, thereby leading to Resistance’s arrest.

Thailand-based Zim Teacher Fakes Her Husband's Death

MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa, has been implicated in a vehicle number plates forgery scam after one of his close security details was arrested for driving a Toyota Fortuner displaying Mercedes Benz registration plates in Makoni District, recently.
Mhaka Chishanga, who was part of Chamisa’s advance security, was also charged for driving without displaying the rear number plate.
The incident happened last week when Chamisa visited Makoni Central and South constituencies where he met his party supporters.
Chishanga was granted $25 000 bail with reporting conditions by Rusape magistrate, Rufaro Mangwiro, who adjourned the matter to 4 November.
Prosecuting, Justice Masanganise, said Chishanga also had affixed another number plate on the windscreen which belongs to Bestbake Foods. He said:

The accused person is employed by MDC Alliance as a driver and is a holder of a valid driver’s licence.
On October 21, Chishanga was driving a Toyota Fortuner, Registration Number AEC8562, and was arrested by police details who were manning a roadblock for failing to affix a rear number plate.
The motor vehicle was impounded and referred to Rusape Central Police Station.
While at the police station, an inspection was made on the accused person’s vehicle by the police, and it was observed that the third number plate AEC8562 was different from the affixed front number plate, ACO3818.

Further checks were made with the Central Vehicle Registry which revealed that the affixed front number plate – ACO3018 – belonged to a Mercedes Benz which was allocated to Nelson Chamisa whose given address was Number 2623, Kuwadzana, Harare.
The third number plate which was on the front windscreen belongs to Bestbake Foods of Number 18, Spurn Road, Ardebeine, Waterfalls, Harare.
