Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association
The Zimbabwean Hospital Doctors Association (ZHDA) is a professional association for medication doctors in Zimbabwe whose state objective is to negotiate conditions of service for government hospital doctors & patients, to improve healthcare.
In 2018 and 2019, ZHDA was responsible for a number of demonstrations over bad working conditions and meagre salaries.
In September 2019, the associations acting president Peter Magombeyi was allegedly abducted and tortured for 5 days following a notification by ZHDA that it would embark on a protest for better working conditions. His abduction resulted in protests by health workers who vowed that they would not return to work unless he was returned.
