Tatenda "Mr Kamera" Kamera is a Zimbabwean musician and producer based in South Africa. He is popularly known as Mr Kamera and has worked with African musicians; Ice Prince, L-Tido, Gemini Major and fellow Zimbabwean musician Bryan K.
Education
He learnt at Hatfield Junior School where he was taught music by Richard Kohola who produced Kamera's first hip-hop album when he was in Grade 7.[1]
Career
He is a self-taught producer who has worked with big African names, including Ice Prince, Victoria Kimani, Burna Boy, Cassper Nyovest, AKA and Yemi Alade. Locally he has produced songs for Ammara Brown. He is popularly known for the song Pamusika, which features Bryan K.[2] The remix features additional verses from Ice Prince, Gemini Major. He rose to prominence in South Africa in 2013 after producing the song "Fresh N Clean" for L-tido and Ice Prince.
In 2015 he produced and co-wrote a song ‘Rassa Muswe’ on Nigerian DJ Xclusive's album ‘According To X’. DJ Xclusive is also the official DJ for Wizkid. The song features South African female artist Fiesta Black (FB) famous for the hit ‘Xigubu’. Kamera and Brian Soko founded Anashe Media Group which is a management company. Soko and Kamera have collaborated on projects in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and in the US.[3]
