Accident Details

The accident resulted in the death of six people and 54 more were injured and three of them seriously. The accident occured when a Takrose Bus carrying 36 pupils from Emma-nuel Secondary School was involved in an accident 32 km from Nyanga along the Ruvangwe Highway in Manicaland.[1] The accident occurred near the scene of the Nyanga Bus disaster that killed 84 pupils and five teachers from Regina Coeli Secondary School in August 1991. The driver of the bus is said to have lost control and veered off the road.[1] Officials from the police indicated that among the dead was a pupil from Emmanuel Secondary School, a five-year-old boy, two conductors from the bus company, a man and a woman.[1] The injured were taken to Nyanga and Regina Coeli Mission hospitals while those that were critically injured were taken to Mutare General Hospital.
