Simba The Comic King is a Zimbabwean stand-up comedian. He is the co-founder of Simuka Comedy with Victor Mpofu popularly known as Doc Vikela.
Background
Simba The Comic King was born Simba Kakora on 2 October 1988.[1]
Career
He made his entertainment and performing debut as a stand up comedian officially in 2010 at the popular Bocapa Open Mic at Book Cafe.[2] Even though friends encouraged him to take up the stand-up comedy art form, he never took the encouragement seriously until Michael Jackson died. Overwhelmed by grief, Simba felt the urge to carry on the legacy of a king by becoming his impersonator thus Simba The Comic King was born.[1]
Simba has performed at various platforms such as the Acoustic Night, Zimbabwe Comedy Festival, Intwasa and Protest Arts International Festival, among others. He had his debut South African show in November 2013 in Johannesburg when he performed at Every African Comedian’s Dream Stage at Parkers Comedy.[2] He was the only Zimbabwean amongst seven South African comedians performing at the Anti-Xenophobia Comedy Show held in Johannesburg, South Africa in May 2015. Other comedians included Kagiso Lediga, the host Chris Mapane, Linhle Msimang, Eureka Nkese and Donovan Goliath.
He co-founded Simuka Comedy with Victor Mpofu popularly known as Doc Vikela.[3]

- His local influences include Mukadota, Paraffin, Michael Kudakwashe and Edgar Langeveldt. Internationally he is influenced by Chris Rock and Eminem.[1]
