Prince "Gaddafi" Dube is a Zimbabwean footballer who plays as a forward for Tanzanian side Azam. He is a former Highlanders Football Club player.

Background

Dube was born on 17 February 1997.[1]
Dube atended Somvubu Secondary School 2011 to 2014.

Career

He helped Highlanders' developmental side, Highlanders 90 to gain promotion into the Southern Region Division One in 2015. Dube was promoted to the senior side in the 2016 season and went on to score five goals in his maiden season in the top flight. He was also named the Castle Lager Rookie of the Year in the same year.

He had his first international debut for the Warriors in a friendly against Zambia in March 2017. Although he did not score, Dube was showered with praise by coach Norman Mapeza who said:

"Dube did well, he is still young, full of energy and I think he just needs to be given some bit of time.I think he will be a good future player for this country."

He helped Bosso win the Chibuku Super Cup in 2019 after the arrival of Hendrik Pieter de Jongh in September 2019. He has joined Tanzania side Azam on a three-year-contract on 17 August 2020.[3]

Injury

Prince Dube was officially expected to be out for four weeks after undergoing a successful operation to rejoin a broken ulna bone on his left forearm at Vincent Palloti in Cape Town, South Africa on Thursday 3 December 2020. Zaka Zakazi, the Azam head of information and communication department said Dube’s operation was a success and the striker was to be out of action for four weeks.

The Warriors striker fell and broke the bone on his left forearm while turning out for Azam in a Vodacom Tanzania Mainland Premier League match against Young Africans on Wednesday 25 November 2020. Azam flew the striker to Cape Town, South Africa as they believed that country has the expertise for the player to heal faster.[4]
