Method Mwanjali is one of the most versatile football players to have played in the local premier league. He plays for CAPS United Football Club. In April 2016 Mwanjali and fellow player, Archford Gutu were arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man. He was later cleared for the charges in June 2016.
Background
Method was born on April 25, 1983 in Hwange.[1] He is married to Karen, the couples has two kids, Method and Dornel
Career
Mwanjali was once a Shabanie Mine Football Club Player, before making a move to join CAPS United Football Club. He was to spend four seasons with the green machine where he proved to be a very versatile player playing both in defence and in midfield. Although Mwanjali managed to get regular time at the Brazilians during his early days at the club, the arrival of Mosimane at the club saw the player having limited game time and eventually being loaned to Mpumalanga Black Aces despite Mosimane's protestations that Mwanjali was still part of the team.[2] With the expiry of his loan to Mpumalanga, Mwanjali was still reported to not have been offered a new deal by Sundowns which fuelled speculation that the player may be making a return to the local league where he was still haunted by match fixing alllegations.[3] It was also reported that Black Aces were still interested in Mwanjali and it was highly speculated that the player may make move to Black Aces on a more permanent basis.[4] At the peak of his career with Sundowns, Mwanjali was the team captain. Following a successful career in the South African Super Diski, he made a return to CAPS during the 2015 mid season transfer window.[5]

National Team Caps
Mwanjali got his first national team call-up when he was aged 22 and has played many more since then.[6] Yellow as he is known by local fans has played for the national team several times, he has also captained the national side too. He captained the warriors in 2011 under the guidance of Zimbabwe football icon Norman Mapeza in the AFCON 2012 qualifiers.[7]

Controversy
Match Fixing
Mwanjali alongside a clique of other players were alleged to have partaken in matches whose outcome had already been agreed on which saw them deliberately losing matches and letting in goals as they had been paid to do. Several players were implicated in the scandal including he likes of Nyasha Mushekwi, Knowledge Musona and Ovidy Karuru. The player maintained his innocence arguing that he was being used as a scapegoat by the powers at ZIFA.[8]
Arrested for attempted murder
In April 2016, Mwanjali was arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a motorist in Harare during road rage fight. The case against Mwanjali was that a car he was travelling in which was being driven by Archford Gutu almost collided with the vehicle of Tonderai Nhunzvi after which the two football players got out and assaulted Nhunzvi. Mwanjali stabbed Nhunzvi twice in the stomach. Nhunzvi was hospitalised and was said to be out of fatal danger.[9]
Mwanjali was cleared of all charges in June 2016 by after Nhunzvi opted for an out of court settlement.
