Masimba Keen Mambare is a Zimbabwean professional footballer who plays for Dynamos FC and the Zimbabwe national team as a midfielder. Mambare is a devoted Seventh Day Adventist church member who grew up in Kwekwe’s Amaveni suburb.[1]

Mambare was born on was born on 9 May 1986.[1]
Professional career
The football career of Masimba Mambare started in 2005 when he joined Amabhubhesi a division two club in Kwekwe, he was then spotted and transferred to Ziscosteel in 2006. In his first season with Ziscosteel he made an impact which won him Midlands sports writers runners-up and Ziscosteel player of the year.[1] In 2008 he was then transferred to Motor Action a premier league outfit, were he was an instrumental figure and helped Motor Action to win the Castle Lager Premier league. He was then transferred to Bulawayo giants Highlanders in April 2012 [2] signing a 2 year contract. In his first season with Highlanders Masimba was the Castle lager Soccer star of the year runners-up to Denver Mukamba a former Dynamos player. In 2013 Mambare was also instrumental for highlanders helping the team win Mbada Diamonds Cup the first trophy in 7 years scoring the third goal in a 3-0 win over How Mine FC [3] After his contract ended at the end of 2013 Masimba then signed for Highlanders bitter rivals Dynamos as a free agent receiving a $15,000 signing on fee, a move that sparked great debate leaving him being abused by fans who booed him in his last match for Highlanders [4] His career for Dynamos has been blighted by injuries which saw him limited to only one appearance in the Independence Cup semi-final.[5]

National Team Caps
Masimba was a key figure in the Warriors squad that finished fourth in the 2014 African Nations Championship (Chan) in South Africa by scoring the goal that sent the team to the knock out stages against Burkina Faso. He was first selected as the Warriors captain by coach Klaus-Dieter Pagels in the match against Zambia in April 2013.[6] To date, Mambare has 11 national team caps and has scored three goals in his career.[7]
