Education
Garikai Mazara attended Nyakapupu Secondary School for his O level from 1986 to 1989.He later proceed to Mavuradonha High School where he did his Advanced Level from 1990 to 1991
Career
Mazara has worked as an Apprentice Originator for Zimbabwe Newspapers (1980) Ltd for four years January 1993 – December 1996 ,Originator for Zimbabwe Newspapers (1980) Ltd January 1997 – December 1997 and he held this post for a year only.Mazara then became a Leisure Editor for Sunday Mail.
Scandals
Defamation lawsuit against Wicknell Chivayo
On March 21, 2017, Mazara filed a $500 000 lawsuit at the High Court against businessman Wicknell Chivayo over alleged defamatory WhatsApp messages. Chivhayo allegedly hurled insults and obscenities at Mazara saying,
“Urimbwa yemunhu unofa uchishupika. (You are a dog and you will die poor).” Chivayo went on to critique Mazara’s profile picture insinuating that he was HIV positive. [1]
