Duru Power Station (Pvt) Ltd
The Duru Power Station was built by PGI in 2012 and commissioned in March 2013. It is a 2.2MW scheme, taking water from the Duru river

The Duru river is a tributary of the Honde River, flowing off the western side of Mt Nyangani. Honde Valley, Manica Province.
Current structure
Physical
The Duru scheme takes water from the river at an altitude of 1268m. and returns it to the river 2,100m from the offtake weir. The head is 333 metres. The steel penstock is 750mm in diameter to give a maximum flow of 750 litres per second.
The powerhouse building contains a 2.2 MW pelton turbine with a horizontally mounted generator. The electricity is despatched into the national grid through a 33KV line.
The riverflows are strong in the rains, from December to April, after which they tail off. The turbine has an operating range of 8% to 100% which allows it to operate for about 9 months of the year. The scheme is designed to generate electricity at 35% of its installed capacity which is 6,745 MWh per year.

PGI own several power generation companies, including Duru Power Station (Pvt) Ltd. All plants are managed by Nyangani Renewable Energy (Pvt) Ltd
