Douglas Rogers is a Zimbabwean travel writer, memoirist and journalist. In 2009 Rogers published a part-memoir, part-travelogue The Last Resort.
Background
Rogers was born in Umtali, Southern Rhodesia present-day Mutare,Zimbabwe.He attended Chancellor Junior School, Mutare Boys High and then Prince Edward High School in Harare.
He is married to Grace Cutler.
Education
He graduated with a Bachelors in Journalism from Rhodes University.
Career
Rogers was a city reporter for a Johannesburg newspaper and completed freelance editing assignments for Radio 702 and other media outlets. He moved to London in 1994, where he published several feature pieces in newspapers such as The Independent. His first travel piece was published by the Sunday Telegraph in 1997. He has also written extensively for the Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, and Travel + Leisure.[1]
Rogers reported on South Africa’s first democratic election in 1994 for various newspapers and radio stations.
