DJ Smylie is a Zimbabwean, radio personality, disc jockey and Zimdancehall musician. He is popularly known for his Usadarooo chant on radio and in the dancehall circles.
Background
Smylie was born Ngoni Machingura. He moved to the United Kingdom , where he lived for five years, to seek greener pastures. While in the UK he lived with Jamaicans who taught him patois which is a Jamaican language.[1]

He learnt at Vainona High School.
Career
Upon returning to Zimbabwe, Smylie saw that there was a market for dancehall music which was not being serviced. That is when he started playing dancehall music locally. Smylie identified people who had the same vision with him and this saw the formation of the group Legendary Sounds. The group comprises Smylie, Zai One, Merciless Zim, DJ Simmz and Mad Vancho. In an interview with a local paper he said their first performances as a group was in Warren Park and Red Fox Hotel.[1]
He applied a job at ZBC's Power FM in 2009 and got the chance to host the show Dancehall Ignition Party every Thursday and Friday from 9pm to 12 midnight.[2]
