DJ Iyati is a disc jockey (DJ) at Zimbabwe's first commercial radio station, Star FM which was launched on 25 June 2012. She presents The Breeze together with Tariro. In 2013, she was the station's DJ of The Year.
Background
DJ Iyati was born Fiona Itayi Takaendesa on 10 September 1979.[1] For her primary education, she was enrolled at Glen View 2 Primary School.[1] From Glen View 2 Primary School, she went to Girls High School and then to Speciss College in Harare.[2]
Broadcasting career
DJ Iyati claims that she was naturally born a communicator.[3] She joined Star FM when it was launched in 2012. Prior to that, she worked for Multichoice's branch in Zimbabwe as a Customer Services Supervisor.[2]
Awards
In 2013, DJ Iyati was voted as the station's DJ of The Year. She won an all paid trip to Dubai courtesy of Kenyan Airways.[4] On 13 March together with a lucky listener from Highfield, Sheldon Kasi.[4]
