"Chamisa Still To Collect Pension From Time As Cabinet Minister"

Former CCC leader Nelson Chamisa revealed that he has yet to collect the pension he accrued from his time as a Cabinet Minister and Member of Parliament, which dates back 11 years.

Speaking at the memorial for his uncle, Chomunorwa Chamisa, in Chidyamakuni Village, Chiwara, Gutu, over the weekend, Chamisa criticised the current political climate in Zimbabwe.

He said many people enter politics primarily to fulfil personal interests, seeking election to secure benefits such as residential stands, cars, and money rather than genuinely representing the needs of the community. Said Chamisa: Said Chamisa:

Since I left Parliament in 2018, I’m entitled to a pension. Despite being a Cabinet Minister and a Member of Parliament, I decided not to claim my pension.

According to the law, I am entitled to my benefits, but I chose to work for my upkeep until real change happens in this country.
