Highlanders Pick First Win Of The Season
Highlanders have won their first match of the current Castle Premier Soccer League season after beating Gweru-based side WhaWha 2-0 at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
Vice-captain Nqobizitha Masuku put up a man of the match performance scoring both goals from set-pieces.
Before the match, Bosso had only managed to collect one point from a possible nine whilst their opponents had managed two points.
Highlanders are now on four points after four rounds of fixtures and face Bulawayo City next weekend.
Five PSL matches were played across the country this Sunday. Here are the results:
- Highlanders 2-0 Whawha
- Herentals 2-1 Manica Diamonds
- Cranborne Bullets 0-0 ZPC Kariba
- Triangle United 0-0 Harare City
- Tenax 2-0 Bulawayo City
In other news, CAPS United have announced the signing of Tatenda Tavengwa (24), who is joining from Harare City.
Tavengwa, a defensive midfielder, previously played under CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe at his previous club.
In addition to Tavengwa, the Green Machine signed Dennis Dauda, Lincoln Mangaira, Devon Chafa, Rodwell Chinyengetere, Wilson Manondo, Tawana Chikore and Kenneth Bulaji during the 2022 January transfer window. Said CAPS United in a statement:
All new signings will be available for selection for the Youth Day holiday match versus Ngezi Platinum Stars FC.
