Accusing Ncube And Sanyatwe Of Vilolating Human Rights Without Evidence Is A Violation Of Their Rights - Zim Govt On US Sanctions
The Zimbabwean Government has slammed the US for extending sanctions to Sanyatwe and Owen Ncube and said human rights violations allegation needed to be backed by proof otherwise any other approach is surely in itself a violation of those individuals’ human rights, The Herald Reports.
Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister SB Moyo released a statement which reads in part:
We once again note with regret the inclusion of Honourable Minister Owen Ncube and Ambassador Anselem Sanyatwe as specially designated nationals on the OFAC US Treasury Sanctions list.
Feedback…In both cases, the US cited human rights abuses and political repression as the reasons for imposing the sanctions
…the holding to account of any individual or individuals anywhere in the world for alleged human rights abuses and or political repression must be evidence-based as scrutinised in and upheld by a court of law. Any other approach is surely in itself a violation of those individuals’ human rights
Dr Moyo was addressing the updated sanctions list which now includes Owen Ncube And Ambassador Sanyatwe.
