"The Pressure Is Unbearable," Chamisa

The leader of the opposition MDC Alliance, Nelson Chamisa has said that he is under immense pressure from the masses who want to take to the streets to register their displeasure in the deteriorating state of affairs.

Chamisa told News Day that he has been around the country where he learnt that the citizenry is not happy over socio-economic and political crises in the country. He said:

People want to be on the street as early as yesterday to protest against government. Considering that people are suffering and dying while crossing the flooded Limpopo to South Africa looking for opportunities that are deprived back home, the pressure is unbearable. People want to be in the street as early as yesterday to have the situation resolved.

He said that the situation was now ripe for action as it is no longer sustainable adding that change was high. Zimbabwe has once again plunged into an economic crisis that has been described by many as the worst in the past decade.

Analysts believe that a dialogue between President Mnangagwa and Chamisa could trigger growth but the leaders have set demands each side is reluctant to meet.

Meanwhile, Chamisa has hinted that he will no longer be pushing for dialogue as Mnangagwa has not been forthcoming.
