Emergency Passports Could Cost US$318 For Those With Free Funds
The Registrar General’s office is considering allowing local Zimbabweans with free funds to apply for emergency passports using foreign currency.
An emergency passport will cost US$318 and will be processed within 24 hours. This was revealed by local radio station Star FM News through a post on its Twitter handle. The post reads:
The Registrar General says his office is making considerations to allow local Zimbabweans with free funds to pay for their passports in foreign currency pegged at $318 USD with the document processed within 24hrs.
FeedbackThe development comes at a time when Home Affairs is failing to provide the travel documents due to scarce foreign currency needed to but consumables.
Recently, the government announced that Zimbabweans living in the diaspora can renew their passports for a fee of US$318.00.
