Arsenal Lose At Home To Manchester City, As Majestic De Bruyne Scores Brace
Manchester City have comfortably beaten Arsenal 3-0 at Emirates to take all three points after a thrilling first-half performance.
The away side began their dominance within a couple of minutes as De Bruyne hammered home Jesus’ cross and the midfielder’s early strike foreshadowed a superb individual performance.
De Bruyne quickly orchestrated a second City goal by driving a counter-attack into the box, before carefully and selflessly sliding a pass across goal for a Sterling tap in.
Then, just as Arsenal had seemingly settled into the game, Foden set up De Bruyne for a stinging low shot from distance that rifled into the bottom corner to establish a dominant lead at the break.
The second 45 was a much less exciting affair, with both sides adopting a cautious approach, but De Bruyne who was playing as number 10 had taken the game beyond Arsenal already and City ran out comfortable winners.
The result could be a huge boost for the Cityzens who were now showing signs of giving up on the title as huge contenders, Liverpool have opened up a huge lead in the title race.
