Jonathan Moyo Reveals In His Book How Chiwenga "Masterminded" Election Fraud In 2018
Exiled former Minister of Information and Broadcasting Service, Professor Jonathan Moyo has claimed that Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is the one who engineered the alleged election manipulation in 2018.
His remarks come when the opposition MDC led by Nelson Chamisa is refusing to acknowledge President Emmerson Mnangagwa as the president of Zimbabwe saying that the ruling party, in connivance with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, manipulated the 2018 presidential election results in favour of Mnangagwa.
Speaking in an interview with News Day’s Everson Mushava, on the likely consequences of Chiwenga’s return from China where he spent four months receiving medical attention, Moyo claimed that the former army general plotted the rigging.
Asked how Chiwenga mastermind the electoral theft of presidential polls that benefited Mnangagwa, Moyo responded:
It is in my forthcoming book to be published in two weeks’ time.
The MDC challenged the election results at the courts and lost the suit with the judges saying that the opposition party failed to present before the court, evidence to prove that the elections were stolen.
The has called for electoral reforms vowing not to partake in the 2023 elections if the current ZEC team is still in office.
