Picture: Price Of Mealie Meal Moves To Another Level

The price of mealie meal, which is Zimbabwe’s staple, has been raised astronomically by retailers following the government’s decision to scrap a subsidy of the product.

In one of the country’s major retail outlets, a 50kg bag of mealie meal now costs $517.30. This essentially means that a 10kg bag now costs more than $100 from slightly over $50 a few days ago.
