Man Confesses To 1986 Murder After Torment By Avenging Spirit
A Rusape man – Gabriel Mugauri (71) – has confessed to conniving with three accomplices to murder a fellow villager for ritual purposes in 1986.
Mugauri murdered Justine Nyatsanga in connivance with Naison and Edward Ganyani – who are now late – and a third suspect identified only as Manyengavana, who is still at large.
The four murdered Nyatsanga after they were made aware that he was set to travel to Harare to buy a grinding mill.
After the murder, the four took an undisclosed amount of money from him before Manyengavana sliced off his private parts to use for ritual purposes, and then proceeded to dump his body in a bushy area.
The matter only came to light after Nyatsanga’s avenging spirit allegedly started to torment Mugauri’s family through mysterious deaths and incurable mental illnesses.
Mugauri allegedly admitted committing the offence and the police were immediately informed leading to his arrest.
