Gutu Man Caught Writing A' Level Exam For Someone In Mvurwi
A Gutu man was recently sentenced to perform 420 hours community service at Chinyika Hospital after he was arrested for writing a Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) A’ Level Geography Paper 1 for someone else.
Tinashe Mashingaidze (20) sat for the paper on October 25 this year at around 8.30 am at Mvurwi High School on behalf of Evans Ranganai.
While routine checks in the examination hall, the school head, Marusho Nathaniel became suspicious of Mashingaidze as it was his first time to see him leading to the former’s exposure as a cheat.
Mashingaidze was arrested by ZRP Mvurwi, and he pleaded guilty to the charge before Guruve magistrate Shingirai Mutiro.
In mitigation, Mashingaidze claimed to have been misled by Ranganai, who asked him to write the exam on his behalf so that he would qualify for a scholarship that was being offered by the school.
