4 Chiadzwa Armed Robbers Arrested, Hauled Before The Courts
Four suspected robbers who reportedly ganged up with soldiers and police officers to storm Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company reserves in Chiadzwa in 2017 have been hauled before the courts.
The four suspects have been identified as Foster Mukwada (44), from Mhandu village under Chief Marange; Amato Fanuel Zivanai (34), of Makwikwi village in Shurugwi; Munyaradzi Charakupa (43), of Kadoma; and Brian Marungamise (33). The appeared before Mutare magistrate Nyasha Kuture, facing 10 counts of armed robbery.
The quartet allegedly raided ZCDC premises on November 29, 2019, armed with AK-47 assault rifles and in the company of 6 soldiers and illegal panners.
The robbers in military fatigues proceeded to disarm security guards at the premises and went sackfuls away with diamond ore.
The suspected robbers used the same modus operandi several times until they were waylaid by police officers and arrested.
