Ministry launches probe amid claims Head sexually abused 7 pupils and impregnated form 4 student

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education  has launched a probe against Mr Blessed Makhiwa who is the headmaster of Jibajiba Secondary School in Lupane for sexually abusing female pupils at his school.

Makhiwa allegedly impregnated a form four pupil and up to 7 pupils have confessed to their parents that they had sexual relations with him. Matabeleland North acting Provincial Education Director Mr Jabulani Mpofu confirmed to The Chronicle that they had received the complaint and that an investigation was underway. Said Mpofu:

I can confirm that we received a report to that effect but I cannot for now say the reports are true or false. The Lupane District Education Office is taking action on the matter. They are assembling their findings. They have engaged the parents and children who are assisting with information so that they can come up with a stand point on the investigations. Something is being done.

Jibajiba village head identified as Mr Ndlovu said one of the girls whom the headmaster expelled after being found hanging out with boys confessed that she is pregnant and that she was intimate with the headmaster.
